And he will. Do the Ukrainians have enough heat-seeking missiles to shoot down at least a few of them? And now will it play in Russia when photos of downed Russian aircraft start showing up?

200 stinger missiles were delivered Monday.

Russians are already trying, and have not achieved aerial superiority.

People seem to think that this is going to end soon. It's not. Putin has and will continue to commit war crimes against Ukraine. He's going to escalate to incite more and more crimes against humanity and see how much the world will accept.

He prepared for sanctions. That doenst mean they wont work, but IMO it means they wont work fast.

My main hope is that pressure from the Russian people themselves will make the real difference. They are going to be the ones feeling the most pain, and they protested from the start. Putin wont hesitate to act against them either, but it will sap some resources, add more pressure. He'll be fighting at home and abroad.

The entire world needs to keep comparing him to Hitler and when he starts strong arming his protesters at home, start in with "Stalin."

It was obvious what Putin was planning.

The West should have begun massive arms shipments to Ukraine many months ago.

lots of minds changed since the shooting started.

It took that to bring this Coalition together.

Why would it not end soon? We have the best sanctions ever and Biden has united the world against Putin!! We have the greatest leadership in generations overseeing this!!! If everything is as great as we are being told then what makes you think it won't end soon?

Putin is so pissed that trump isn't in the white house helping him dismantle NATO and the UN and all Ukrainian support.

he probably will......however i don't think anyone believes that Putin cannot conquer Ukraine......just depends on how many people he doe not mind murdering

Spare me the sarcasm. If you had other expectations, I'd say you should examine the bar under which they were set...for example, I'd hope not from the idiot with comparable delusions of grandeur previously in charge.

Thank God.

I literally do, each night, that we have Joe at the helm.

And I am an agnostic.

I agree. Way too many people have been misled by despair and then cheerleading. The same military experts that said there would be no invasion, then said that in an invasion that Ukraine wouldn't last three days, are now declaring Putin is stalled and desperate.

The Russian offensive may be much slower than anticipated, the column in front of Kiev may have stopped to fix logistical troubles, and some Russian troops are demoralized but the long run with enough time and expenditure, Putin won't stop.

The initial failure of the Russian offensive to achieve its main goals is due to several factors, some of them fixable in the short run. It may take days to reorganize and get supplies to the spearheads, but it will happen. And while the Russian air force wasn't able to disable all airfields, or all anti-aircraft batteries and Ukraine's smaller air force can still operate, everyday of operations shrinks Ukraine's limited inventory of planes.

The Russians now have 90 percent of the invasion combat troops in. They have finally caught on and moved in a whole lot of S-400 and other anti-aircraft missiles and guns into their convoys. At the moment it is extremely risky for Ukraine to attack a main axis convoy and can only do so by coming in at the lowest possible level and dumping dumb bombs, then hope to escape through the convoys withering ground fire. (Ukraine's heroic and most well known fighter pilot came out of retirement, the Grey Wolf, and was killed yesterday when his plane was hit by an S-400 battery). And it seems that the Ukrainians are desperately short of their s-300s, many knocked out.

It looks increasingly likely that Putin will use huge Russian firepower, rather than combat troops, to destroy forces and cities at will. The Russians won't fight house to house, they will however surround cities and issue ultimatums. Surrender or be leveled with Thermobaric bombs, cluster munt, long range artillery and ballistic missiles. He will, as he did in Chechnya, simple wipe historic cities off the map.

His air force will have its role, but only in the delivery of the huge bombs.

It was so obvious that people were all calling Biden crazy for suggesting Putin was actually going to invade. Then when he sent troops into Eastern Ukraine, they still didn't take it seriously.

Probably because there has been no heavy warfare on the European continent until now.

Good analysis

So you’re in favor of his destruction of cities and maximum killing of its occupants?

lol geez watsup. what a loaded question! The premises of your question are questionable, and must be established before you pose your question. No cities have been destroyed in Ukraine. Unless you can point out to me a Hiroshima or Nagasaki in Ukraine.

Also it is going beyond just sanctions with companies stepping up and pulling out of Russia, not selling their good in Russia, etc.

That would quite likely have simply sped up the invasion. They had to try diplomacy first, or lose a (admittedly fading) chance at peace. The problem with an established nuclear power acting up is everyone has to tread carefully. Since that didn’t work, now they can ship arms to Ukraine with no peace to lose. Plan B is to drag it out to force Putin to the table.

It doesn’t all happen at once. Putin is an evil madman without the slightest qualms about death and destruction.
He and his Air Force did exactly that in Syria and elsewhere. His record speaks for itself.

Yeah, massive arms shipments is what the world needs. Especially in an unstable country like Ukraine. Especially since Earth's ecosystems are said to be on the brink of collapse. There just aren't enough massive amounts of weapons in the world. There are no opportunity costs for massive amounts of weapons in the world, either. Weapons to the rescue.

Yes, that is sarcasm.

My take on Syria is that the demons of destructions were the jihadists funded by Arab Gulf states and some western countries to overthrow Assad. Putin actually stabilised Syria. Syrians do deserve a stable, prosperous Jeffersonian democracy. And that is what they revolted against Assad for. It is also the case that they wound up crushed between Assad the dictator on one hand and psychotic jihadists on the other. I consider Assad the dictator as the better of the two evils

Yeah, massive arms shipments is what the world needs.

Says the man who is protected by massive US arms.

Talk about hypocrisy. And I don't see you rushing to Ukraine to tell the Russians to lay down their arms and leave.
