Maybe this is a stupid idea, but I thought it might help some of us who are either dieting or attempting to establish regular healthy meals as a part of our routine.
It could be, like, a support-type thing.
Just post what you eat for dinner.
But don't cheat. That defeats the purpose.

I had Chicken bacon, sausage, potatoes and brocalli covered in gravy.

a small steak(10-12 oz), baked potato, and salad(no dressing). Water. And I just ate an apple afterwards as I was still hungry.

A MCchicken sandwich, with a karmal sundae and a small soft drink.

The real push will start tomorrow width a new 12-week cycle of three days of strength training, mixed in with five of cardio. :rock

I just had two chocolate covered cherries and then came to this thread.

:2rofll:

..........and tonight that was pretty much dinner for me.

I didn't make any dieting goals this year
:3oops:

I don't believe in dieting. So I eat what I feel like. Usually chicken, mashed potatoes, carrots, brocolli, cauliflower, salad or something of the sort.

Fillet of sole with cole slaw and mashed potaters with iced tea to drink

We had rice and a stir-fry utilizing all the fresh produce in the house, because we're grocery shopping tomorrow, so I'm trying to use up all the old stuff.
In the stir-fry, there was broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, mushrooms, carrots, yellow squash, zucchini, onions, and celery. I fried this in about a tablespoon of vegetable oil, and for the sauce I used soy sauce and kikkoman stir-fry sauce.
There's enough food for leftovers tomorrow.

My real reason for starting this thread is that one of my New Year's resolutions is to cook at home more often, and to eat more regular meals.
We've fallen into a habit of skipping meals, living on snacks, and eating out a lot.
I'm trying to get back to a healthier (and cheaper) way of doing things, so hopefully this thread will be helpful in that pursuit.

:)

I am a very picky eater. So this could be useful for me. And perhaps when they all answer if they could say how they made their yummy food--for beginners like me! :)

Sounds good if you had some protein with it.

Saturday consisted of morning cereal (Captain Crunch), three 32-oz sodas throughout the day, and a 4-piece meal from KFC (original recipe, all dark).

Sunday's vittles will include morning cereal (Captain Crunch or Frosted Flakes), orange juice, unknown quantities of Coca-Cola, and ultimately...a beef rib roast and a baked potato.

I took about 2 lbs of roma tomatoes, a red onion, half a head of garlic, and an jalapeno, gave them a drizzle of olive oil, a dash of salt and pepper, and roasted them in the oven until they got a bit toasty on the edges. I peeled the tomatoes, and turned everything over and put it back in the oven with two cans of tomato puree with no added citric acid until the other side got a little bit dark on the edges. I then blendarized all of it with about half a cup of water to help thin it a bit and some basil.
After it was nice and smooth, I heated it again on the stove.
While doing this, I took some ciabatta bread, cut it into little tiny squares and drizzled it with olive oil, salt and pepper and a few red peppers (not much) and stuck it in the oven for about 10 minutes until they were very dry and hard. I then gave it a sprinkle of garlic.
I put my soup in a bowl and added a dollop of sour cream and the croutons I made, then a few sprigs of fresh parsley.

I served it with a nice salad and a balsamic vinegarette I just whipped up with a bit of italian seasonings, salt and pepper, garlic, and olive oil.

Well, it sounded better than just saying tomato soup and salad. :2razz:

Chicken and herb stuffed Tortellini with a vodka mushroom sauce with fresh ground parmesan cheese. :)

Tonight we'll have fresh fish, shrimp and chilled crab meat in our gumbo, over rixe. Oh and some okra and andouille sausage.

Tonight, not so good.
Peanut butter sandwich and a smoothie.

Red-wine and herb marinated chicken, wheat pasta, asparagus, green beans. More meatballs.

Sunday nights, I lose my energy for cooking. And my enthusiasm for eating.
The Sunday blahs are compounded this week by the fact that I've had a four-day weekend.

As many of you know my wife is Korean. Today she made Jam Bong or Jam Pong. Its a chile spiced seafood stew full of shrimp, octopus, scallions, fat mussels, and home made noodles. This time she was able to get a sea cucumber from the Korean market so she added it the to the pot. Its one of my favorite Korean dishes.

My friend's mom is Korean.
My friend told me her mom used to cook something called fuk soup (don't know if that's the right spelling; maybe it's "fok").

You ever heard of anything along those lines?

Because I figured maybe my friend was just messin' with my head.

Shrimp sauteed in garlic butter, fresh pan-fried Crappie, homemade french fries, buttered kernel sweet corn, marble rye bread with butter, iced tea.

For desert I had Costa Rican coffee with coffee cake. It was awesome.

I'm thinking about sneaking back into the kitchen, after the wifey nods out, and taking a few scoops of some o' dat Blue Bell Home Made Vanilla Ice Cream.

I'm s'posed to be goin' on a diet. :3oops:

I think I know what your talking about. Its Vietnamese noodle soup called "Pho" pronounced Fuh. My wife and I go out to eat pho once in awhlie. There are noodle houses everywhere around Dallas.

Now I'm having Lay's Cracker Crisps.
They're pretty good, actually.
100 calories a bag.
I'm on my third bag today.
