What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

How do you roast your chiles?

I don't, I buy bagged frozen. I don't really enjoy cooking....which is why I'm loving the air fryer. I haven't found whole frozen chiles yet, unfortunately. And I just use 505 hot green chili to smother the rellenos.

If they arent whole, what are you stuffing?

I also love my air fryer and my air fryer oven (a separate appliance) is my go-to for cooking most things not done on the stove top. Also find my combo panini press/waffle maker really convenient. Has 3 plates: grill, waffle, flat.

I'm not stuffing - I'm just putting the chiles and the cheese in the egg roll wrapper and rolling it up. Not traditional, surely, but it comes out tasting the same.

Ah. OK. Cheater! ;)

Sounds like my unstuffed cabbage rolls Oh! And my Lazy Red and Green Enchiladas that I posted about last week :D

What brand of air fryer over do you have? We are ready for a new one. Ours doesn't seem to hold temperature too well.

I used to buy the canned whole chiles and stuff them, and then it occured to me - why, lol. So now I at least use frozen instead of canned. How do you unstuff a cabbage roll?

It's all done in a Dutch oven or slow cooker, deconstructed...very easy really. Brown the beef, then add onions, canned diced tomatoes, and chopped cabbage. Near end I add pre-cooked rice (from frozen from store or cups on Rice aisle.) Needs spicing up, so Worcestershire, Calabrian chili paste, other spices, etc. I just grabbed several recipes on the internet and took what I liked from each to make my own.

Can do unstuffed peppers too.

Yeah, last time I made stuffed peppers I decided that next time I should just cut the peppers into chunks or strips and just cook them along with the stuffing. Seems much easier.

Ninja. (AF)

Oh, sorry. My AF oven is Emeril LeGasse, not the one with French doors but the largest model right before that. Had it for years, love it.

Is it the one that you can flip up out of the way?

We picked up our grandson from school for the afternoon. Fixed his favorite meal as of late, chicken tenders, mashed baby reds, gravy and creamed spinach. He made packaged peanut butter cookies for dessert, practicing manipulating the fork to crisscross them not knowing he was working on an IEP fine motor skill. They were the best I've ever eaten. I sent his teacher and OT pictures and a video.

No, this one. Only paid about $125 tho. And mind came with 2 of the mesh AF baskets. I do use 2 levels of the oven for roasting and cooking.

That link went to an Emeril? I had no idea which one to get, and I had no idea whether or not I was going to get much use out of one, so I went with a Cosori for $129 on sale. Now I would go ahead and spend more on one, when this one goes out, since I know I love them.

Night, all!

Yes, doesnt it go to an Emeril Everyday 360? I even put casseroles and braises in there to finish them. It really is an oven and I'll stick any pot/pan in there that will fit! :D

Clean up is a breeze and I absolutely love the smart finish setting.

Give him a hug from me.
It'll be my pleasure. We're celebrating his cousin's first birthday on Wednesday and if you want, I'll give my chubby granddaughter one too.

Yep, my fault - I read "Ninja" and didn't read the sentence below it. This is the one I ordered (it shows a 12 in one, but mine is an 11 in one, 26 quart) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGM4JY9G?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1

I haven't done anything like casseroles in it yet - just air frying and pizzas so far.

Fixed a pot of vegetable beef soup with lots of cabbage. It was very good. Put some in the freezer for another day while leaving a good size container in the fridge for now. We are going out with another couple tomorrow for an early dinner. Probably won't need to cook another dinner till the weekend. That works for me!
