What did you have for dinner? -Part dois

I made sloppy joes to use up a mild green pepper. Obviously, tater tots were the starch side dish.

Fresh caught and baked walleye, homemade steak fries, steamed broccoli, cranberry sauce --- Pecan pie and Butter Pecan ice cream for later.

My neighbor had a field day fishing today at a privately stocked reservoir high up in the mountains, Lisa. And yes, it was super-duper yummy! So white and flaky - melt in your mouth.
I love walleye and perch from the Great Lakes. We used to catch them from a friend's sailboat for a very easy meal.

I've fished that same reservoir. About 10,000 feet in elevation, water so pristine, cold, and clear, with turquoise skies, surrounded by 14,000 foot peaks. Absolute paradise. Once saw a Bald Eagle up there.

Wow. That sounds amazing. You have to be out west somewhere either in the Rockies or Cascades.

Ive only ever seen 1 bald eagle in the Cuyahoga Valley national park.

Three cheese chicken skillet meal with garlic bread that I made using what we had on hand.

Some of the best meals end up being ingredients you had on hand.
Tonight, it was mesquite smoked turkey breast sandwiches on artisan bread with tomatoes, sweet onion slices and crispy lettuce, mayo along with a handful of Snyder BBQ potato chips. It was tasty.

The recipe uses the Wonder bread that my wife likes. I melt butter in the microwave and spoon it onto the bread. Then I add garlic powder and oregano and bake at it 400F for 5 minutes. I am editing it a bit each time, but it's not bad for Wonder garlic bread. In fact, it's quite good. I still Wonder why anyone buys that bread, though, as it is no longer 1985, and real bread is readily available now. I work with what I have.

I made a 14" pizza. Sorry I didn't think to take pics until after I had already cut it into 12 slices.

Took the kiddo to see League of Superhero Pets late this afternoon and we ate movie theater hot dogs and super buttery popcorn. Also slushies. (I got red, he got blue…whatever those flavors are)

He initially said he didn’t want butter on the popcorn. But then he ate it….and now appreciates greasy movie theater popcorn.

Diet three cheese ziti with meatballs
Pringles.

We had fried rice made with leftovers. I used too much mala oil, so it was rather spicy.

Anyone not cooking some greens for a decent amount of time like braising like collard, mustard, or kale or those putting raw broccoli on veggie trays or in their salads and raw kale becomes a real problem to people over the age of 50. It causes a lot of intestinal discomfort and gas and not someone you want to be stuck in an elevator with. Just saying

Tonight, we just finished off a lot of leftovers.
Tomorow, which is already here, is Friday we will be having meatloaf and A gratin potatoes along with some more excellent sweet corn on the cob. Saturday, it will be leftovers. The leftover corn on the cob will be taken off the cob and will be joined with carrots that have been steamed in a microwave steamer. It will be combined with frozen peas. This is called succotash. Combining any vegetables together is succotash.

On Sunday we will be having steak.

Caesar Salad.

I’ve been craving one. The misses made a fine one last night. I cooked some chicken 🐔 breast on the grill she sliced it up. Fresh eggs from our chickens. Store bought bell peppers as our garden got smoked this year. ☹️

Sounds good! Usually when we charcoal grill St. Louis ribs, we make succotash. We use sweet corn, baby lima beans and onions. All steamed.
