For some reason that makes me thing of this.

This song was originally released on a split single with some little unknown band called Nirvana.

One of to my mind prettiest songs ever.

One of the songs Laurie Anderson did on Saturday Night Live.

Have not done this one in awhile, still possibly one of the best examples of why live is better than in the studio.

There was much discussion about this song when it came out. My friends thought it was a kinda sad but uplifting song about a guy struggling with his wife's suicide. I thought it was an incredibly bitter song about a guy driving his ex to suicide and jumping back out into the social scene looking for the next woman to make life hell for.

How could he do it?
There's nothing to it
A fistful of pills in a foreign hotel
She left a note calling him
Heartless and ruthless
And wishing him well, wishing him well.

Now he dines out on death.

How could he do it?
Can I live through it?
In this week's chic restaurant
He touches the hand
Of a vapid-eyed girl who once put sweet lips to it
She says, "I understand, oh I understand ..."

Now he dines out on death.

How could she do it?
Let's help him live through it
Say the New York hostesses
He takes it so well
He lends such distinction to her self extinction
Let's throw him a party, he must be in hell.

Now he dines out on death.

Excellent cover of the Leonard Cohen classic.

A fairly accurate account of the satanic killings in Matamoros Mexico.

Nobody could do highly offensive lyrics to portray a mindset like Steve Albini.

The only good policeman is a dead one
The only good laws aren't enforced
I've never hung a darkie, even a big one
I've never seen an Indian on a horse
And I live like this 'cause I like it
And seen too much to pretend
You can't ignore the beauty in the things that you love
Like you can't stand the hatred and the lies
Have you always hunted with your hands?
Can you show me what you've done?
Have you always hunted with your hands?
If you catch it, can you kill it?
You don't understand, see you don't understand
See, I'm like a murderer, see, I'm like a murderer
And I could rip you limb from limb
And I could rip you limb from limb
Great big thing crawlin' all over me
Great big thing crawlin' all over me
See, I'm like a murderer, I kill what I eat
See, I'm like a, I'm a hunter-gatherer, see, I kill what I eat
See, I'm a steelworker, I kill what I eat
See, I'm, I'm a bricklayer, I kill what I eat
See, I'm a, I'm a murderer, I kill what I eat

See, I'm a, I'm a hunter-gatherer, I kill what I eat
See, I'm a steelworker, I kill what I eat
I'm a, I'm a bricklayer, I kill what I eat
Great big thing crawling all over me
Great big thing crawling all over me
Great big thing crawling all over me
Have you always hunted with your hands?
Can you show me what you've done?
Have you always hunted with your hands?
If you catch it, can you kill it?
I live like this 'cause I like it
And I've seen too much to pretend
You can't ignore the beauty in the things that you love
Like you can't stand the hatred and the lies
See, see, see I'm a murderer, I kill what I eat
See, I'm, I'm a bricklayer, I kill what I eat
See, I'm a steelworker, I kill what I eat
It's a great big thing crawlin' all over me
Great big thing crawlin' all over me
Great big thing crawlin' all over me

This is the last record I'll be spinning here at DP. Enjoy...

Don't give me a place for my memories to stay
Don't show me an inn or a light to find the way
I ain't got time for the things on your mind
And I'm leaving, you today
On my way...

Please don't you cry when the time to part has come
It's not for what you've said or anything that you've done
I've got to go anywhere any time
And I'm leaving, gone today
On my way
I'm going home...

Please don't stick around to see me when I'm feeling low
Don't pass the cards to me to deal the crushing blow
I'll even close the door so you won't see me go
When I'm leaving, gone today
I'm on my way...

I'll walk away like a shadow in the night
I won't give cause for you to feel we have to fight
I'll make it easy so that you won't really
Quite know I'm leaving, you today
On my way
And now I'm going...

:(

I miss you already.

Now I have to figure out whose legs I am going to worship all over again.

Ladies of DP, send pics and be judged fairly.
