Western Kentucky Professor: Trump's victory signals that human decency is no longer an American virtue

From the article you cited...editing mine.

But as Trump Hunter demonstrated conclusively, some Americans can break the law repeatedly - committing crimes that would land most of us behind bars - and
suffer no consequences. And furthermore, having a criminal record is now something many Americans celebrate and even cheer. Kudos to Trump Hunter.

If the people are cheering Trump its because he was the victim of political revenge. But I forgot the left still hasn't figured out why they lost so badly and the man you hate the worst was seen as a better alternative.

This is a terrific, but sad great read. Quite frankly, I cannot disagree with a single word he wrote. Do you guys think human decency is dead?

Golly gee! Let's all promise to never vote for either Biden ever again! Grrrrrrrrrrrr
Since you love the Biden Crime Family, you are in no position to criticize Trump.

Trump told Hamas to release all American hostages or else there would be "All hell to pay!"

We haven't had that kind of moral clarity for 4 years.

Trump has been a coddled criminal only because of his position of tremendous wealth and privilege. If you or I had done even half the things he has done, we would have been in jail years ago. Trump U alone should have been enough to put him away.

Comparing Biden to Trump is like comparing the common cold to tuberculosis.

There's a lot about Biden in this thread, but he wasn't even on the ballot this year. And even if some of the folks couldn't bring themselves to vote for Harris, they could have voted for a third-party candidate instead of Trump. The Libertarian candidate is usually a good third-party candidate vote for, but he didn't get that many votes this year. Trump having received about 77 million votes nationwide is very troubling.

You didn't figure it out when Bill Clinton was elected?
You would be so very, very wrong. You really shouldn't have made that assumption. I was still a happy Registered Republican at the time and could not stand horn dog Bill Clinton then or now. I sure as hell never voted for the putz. But you have a sweet rest of your day! 💋

In segments of the population? Yes.
As a defining American virtue? Yes

The election already proved that. This country elected a morally bankrupt fraud.
Re: "Yep. A true signal that human decency is no longer an american virtue."

Nope. The election did not signal that human decency is no longer an American virtue. If the second Trump presidency proves to be morally bankrupt, two years hence the opposition has the opportunity to elect a Trump proof Congress. During that same period there will be ample demonstration of American virtues, to include human decency, or the lack of them.

You have yet to defend the morality of Trump. The article is about how America doesn't value human decency anymore or perhaps never has. MAGA voters on here kept on trying to make a mouse the same size as an elephant.
It is not my intention to defend Trump’s morality, or lack thereof. My point is the election isn’t about human decency or anything other than the quality of one candidate compared to the other:

LMAO. Meanwhile Joe Biden pardons his criminal son, and the libs defend it.
They have to defend it. Party above all is the democrat credo.

Those who threaten others while themselves lacking official approval for the issuance of threats will be dealt with severely for their infringement on the power of The Leader.

Govern yourself accordingly.

The IRONY of Marxists not grasping that the Biden Junta LITERALLY attempted to establish a ministry of truth - with the Bolshevik drones on this board defending it, is astounding.

There are many reasons I could never be a democrat, that I'm ethican, oppose racism, support America. But one of the main ones is I could NEVER be that level of a hypocrite, it's just not in me. Even if I lied and called myself a Canadian, I just couldn't do it...

Last time I checked I am a registered Republican with center-right beliefs. But yeah, it is easy to pin me as a liberal or a Democrat nowadays.

I agree that Biden is no saint, but re-electing Donald Trump is a new level of moral indecency.

I know right? Trump doesn't even take bribes from Iran. He won't start wars when the MIC orders him to.

LOL

No.

This may be difficult for us Very Online people to accept, but, (and, this is important), neither us nor "America" is defined by "who won a single election for one of our three branches of government at one of the three basic levels of government."

Some folks desperately need to go touch grass.

There is no question that Donald Trump has had a coarsening and vulgar effect on American culture. What used to be almost universally considered rude and socially unacceptable behavior and rhetoric is now held up as an ideal to aspire to.

Teachers and child psychologists all over the country are raising red flags and telling us that our children, taking cues from the national leaders who "win", are engaging in more rude, disobedient behavior, flouting authority, bullying, cursing, etc... Teen boys are engaging in more toxic masculinity and openly endorsing misogyny and homophobia. Openly racist rhetoric and behavior is becoming more acceptable. Hey "it's what winners and real men do", right? "Just sayin' it like it is", right?

I recommend not straying too far from a fainting couch.

That definitely answers the question of if there is a Western Kentucky University.

Actually, it must include a conversation about Harris and Democratic party governance. Without the electorate's backlash against progressive dominance there would be no Trump in office the first time or this time.

The real question will be how far Congress, and the courts, will permit Trump and his "our gang" appointments to carry out their alleged agenda.

The top court seems pretty dedicated to the Constitution, unlike previous courts. That means that Trump is right in line with them. Congress, both houses, is under control of the Republicans. So the type of obstruction, and let's face it, outright treason we saw in 2017 is unlikely to repeat.

I think the America first agenda to restore the Constitution, individual liberty, and American leadership has a pretty good shot of success. Obviously democrats, along with China, Russia, and Iran will do all they can to subvert and scuttle it. Still this is the best chance America has had since Reagan.

Your two sentences indicate you agree with the professor's thesis. People do not care about the morality of the candidate, no matter how bad they are.
