I kid you not, they have robots now that will generate coverage for the Rio Olympics in real time.
If all you need is to report the facts to the people the robots will be fine, but what is going to be responsible for introducing that all important left wing slant into the stories? Is it possible to program that in?
I've always said that the best way to run a news organization would be to hire kids out of high school, train them in the basics, and let them do the job of when where what who and why. To Hell with these goddamned J school grads who think they have to change the world.
Maybe robots are an even better idea.

If the liberal media used manufactured robots how would it be different from now?
Spoken like someone who, predictably, knows absolutely zero about journalism.
And computer assisted reporting is nothing new.
How do you put a leftist slant on stories about the Rio Olympics exactly?
How do you put a leftist slant on stories about the Rio Olympics exactly?
We wouldn't be able to denigrate and blame actual people for the stuff they publish. All we'd hear would be, "The robot did it. The robot did it." As lame excuses go, you have to admit it's not bad.
Now you hear, "The editor did it." Same thing. I can't recall ever hearing a reporter accepting responsibility for a crappy story.

It makes for a nice excuse to disagree with something before its even written. How convenient. You don't even have to read an article just claim it has a "leftist slant" and it can be ignored. Too funny really.
No, usually the slant is achingly obvious. Here's a good example:
