nobody is being paid to not work. no one. that is a proven lie.

don't repeat proven lies and you won't get called out for repeating proven lies.

Those are phone stats. Post a link and proof.
well seeing you people on the right believe everything Fox news puts out here
Republican leaders have spent months promoting the myth that red low-tax states are subsidizing blue high-tax states because of the deduction for state and local taxes
An Associated Press Fact Check finds it's actually the other way around. High-tax, traditionally Democratic states (blue), subsidize low-tax, traditionally Republican states (red) — in a big way.

and there is a lot more where they came from

Here ya go
If, instead of comparing federal funds to state budgets, we look at how much the federal government spends in intergovernmental grants per resident of a state, the results are turned on their heads.

Against a national average of $1,935 in intergovernmental spending per American, red states receive just $1,879. Blue states get considerably more, at $2,124 per resident. Purple states see the least of their money returned to them per capita, at just $1,770. Measured in this way, the blue states are getting quite a bit more than the red or purple.

Here ya go
can you get any more right then this
the Federalist isn't what I would call a really reliable source of info that is why I gave you the one from FOX at least they aren't so far right there isn't any body to the right of them
here is the search I did and most of these reports say you are wrong
https://search.yahoo.com/yhs/search...t+states+get+the+mostmoney+back+from+the+Fede
ttps://wallethub.com/edu/states-most-least-dependent-on-the-federal-government/2700
I know you won't bother to read them and get some facts so
Have a nice day

A teammate of mine is in the same bucket - having to trade off days with his wife to drive the kids.

Elections happen infrequently, as do annual budgets. More to the point, government workers shouldn't be allowed to strike and hold the entire population hostage as a negotiation tactic - it's public service, not be served by the public.
Too bad. I agree with them being able to use this sort of thing to get more pay, better benefits, whether you do or not. This shows those who don't understand the importance of bus drivers and other such workers how important they really are, forcing them to open their eyes to this.

We are back to normal here and they are likely getting raises.

Looks like this is working.

The bus driver shortage was before President Biden was elected. Try again.
Inflation is going to get much worse. You will need a wheel barrow to carry your money to the store to buy stuff.

No we won't. We prepare ahead. And you are living in the past if you think credit or debit cards will be outdone by cash. That ship has sailed. Barter is more likely to come back to the norm than that.

I'm angry because someone is holding me hostage in order to get more money. If i did that, i would be fired immediately. These employees are no better than I am and should be fired for the same reason I would be.

The bus drivers are being asked to work extra hours for free and are rightly not happy about that.
Would you like to work lots of extra hours for free?

Better have tens of thousands of dollars on yours to get that last banana. Especially if that NEW multi-trillion dollar bill for babysitting 3-year-olds and a month of "family" leave pay even for people not working. Welcome to Venezuela folks.

Hyperbole.

Under federal law (Fair Labor and Standards Act), that would be illegal. Bus Drivers are classified as "non exempt" employees which means the FLSA applies. The school district is required to pay regular hourly rate for all hours worked under 40 hours per week and 1.5 times the normal hourly rate for any hours over 40.

Now some school districts "auto pay" some hourly employees, meaning they are assumed to have worked the stated hours even if they haven't. However if the hours actually worked exceeds the number of hours they are paid under normal operations, then the school district MUST pay them for those additional hours. Bus Drivers are not exempt employees.

If the bus drivers are being required to work for hours they are not paid, then that would be a class action lawsuit against the division.

Now to put in context. In the division where I work the average Bus Driver hourly rate is $20.00 (really $19.90, but I rounded) and their scheduled hours is 6 hours per day for 180 days totaling 1080 per year. At $20 per hour that's $21,600 per year.

So while most people not familiar with school divisions will think that $20 an hour is good pay, because of the limited hours and work "season", the annual rate isn't that grate.

Hyperbole.
Tell that to someone as he fills his tank at $100.00 on his way to the grocery store where a week's worth of groceries now costs $300.00 for a family of three.

Welkom to the new Amerika comrades. Brandon's new world. Enjoy!

Get a smaller vehicle. Work from home. Learn to budget grocery shopping better.

You are still using hyperbole. And ignoring the actual reasons for these things happening, which would have happened under any President, including Trump.

It is not hyperbole. But, hey, Brandon is your guy.

As the waitress says when she slapped down your greasy food that now costs double over a year ago, ENJOY!

Don't order greasy food if you don't like it or the cost. Get something else. Eat at home.

President Biden is my guy. I don't have any guys named Brandon. And you still haven't shown evidence that this was because of President Biden being in office.

Only in a liberals mind would it make sense to create programs for citizens to access and then moan and complain that those programs weren't really intended for everyone as they wail that the wrong people were benefiting from them.

Post all the examples you wish - it makes liberals look rather stupid and hypocritical - aka - reveal them for what they are.

If the programs are for everyone then liberals need to shut up about who utilizes them. Bottom line is liberals are all pissy about it because that money is to buy votes and they just can't stand it when it doesn't.

I work for a part of the government responsible - among other things - for interdicting terrorist attacks on the U.S. How many attacks should I allow per annum until I decide I'm happy with my pay?

Not even close to comparable to this. If you individually stop doing your job, someone else will do it for you. Just as if I stop doing me job, they will find someone else to do it. And while I'm a contractor, the main organization I work for has one of the biggest unions in the country. And it is federal.

We are talking about a group of employees going on strike. Not individuals acting as individuals.
