Yep. Both could result in death.
 So can driving a car or eating a hot dog.
Yep. Both could result in death.
Did they get over run in Sweeden? Were they over ran at any place in the US. It appears you may have been sucked in by the propaganda. Often happens to lemmings.
You go ahead and consider yourself the child in some warped parent/child relationship with the government, I’ll pass.
Yes, I agree with that. Your health and safety has to lie primarily with you. When the government gets in the business of deciding what’s best for us, there isn’t anything they cannot do and justify for the same reasons they’re giving us now. How much safer would we be if cars were banned? I’d bet the risks of dying in a car crash are much greater that contracting this virus then actually dying from it. Hopefully there exists, in your mind, where you would draw the line and not support behavioral control even if it does save lives.
It’s not hyperbole. It’s the government actually flat out telling us who we can be with and who we can’t, whether we can gather in a church parking lot or not, whether we can come together in protest or not. How does the constitution not even come up in your mind?
If this virus had been as deadly as it is communicable, say 30% death rate...do you think the govt would have been justified in doing all that you just mentioned?
This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."
That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.
It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa
Your health and safety are YOUR responsibility. It is of very little concern of mine.

So someone with active CV, no PPE, going into the Drs office or nursing home where your elderly mother is or your kid with leukemia on chemo, chatting with them...that would be of very little concern for you?
Yes. It would be of little concern. I have that problem already with family members with weak immune systems. Its their and my families (the family chooses to encumber themselves, it is not owed.) responsibility to bear, not yours or anyone else. Life is full of things that kill you, it is up to YOU to take measures for YOUR safety. No one else is responsible for it.

I never thought I'd live to see a 100-year pandemic event, but I have. That said, I never thought I'd live to see the day when a national crisis of unprecedented proportion like this pandemic would be used as a political tool, but I have.
I also never thought I'd live to see the day when people were literally proud of expressing their independence by not giving a fat, flying **** about their fellow man, preferring a rising death count to their personal inconvenience, but I have.
These aren't people who are out of work, unable to feed their families, grieving the loss of loved ones already passed, scared spitless for the loved ones they fear will be next. These are just self-absorbed crybabies, who still have income, who still have food on the table, who have not lost anyone they cared about, but who are out there screaming "I'm such a victim!" because they are asked to protect others by wearing a damned mask in public.
You know what? **** all of you, you privileged, selfish, whiny pieces of crap. **** you all to hell. May you choke on your self-centered elitism.
Oh, and don't bother washing your hands. Wouldn't want to inconvenience you.

38,000 people die a year in car crash.... I had to look it up. So not as much as Covid at all... but I got your point.
You remind me of Peter Finch from the movie "Network".
Look up the famous quote from IMDB if you don't know it.
I do feel privileged because I am old; don't need to work; don't need to go out; and don't need to worry about old relatives of relatives who must exposed themselves to dangerous situations.
But on the other hand, I am at risk and need to avoid crowds and stupid people who get too close to me in stores or on the streets. Underlying health conditions is what you call it.
I'm not whining about anything and I don't think of myself as a victim.
And I will continue to protect myself from other and follow distancing rules in stores as best I can.
Take a breath and stop lumping together all those people who are fortunate enough to be able to protect themselves.
I'm lumping together all those people who refuse to wear masks to protect those they come in contact with, because they have a constitutional right basically do whatever they want. I'm lumping together those who are screeching that they have a constitutional right to ignore social distancing, ignore protecting their fellow citizens, and gather in large numbers (usually carrying firearms) and scream in the faces of others just because "muh freedom!"
I wonder what the 30% of those protesters who came down with the virus two weeks later are thinking about "muh freedom" now.
I too am old, don't have to go out except to buy essentials, and when I do, I wear a mask to show respect for others. I certainly don't like it, because I have a severe lung condition and trying to suck air through the mask depletes my oxygen levels twice as fast. But then to watch a bunch of healthy young/middle aged people trotting around without masks in defiance of state health orders as if they don't give a rat's ass about the welfare of anyone else around them chaps my ass, so I'm entitled to rant about it. When people in this thread are ranting about how their "constitutional right" trumps the health of people they come in contact with, I'm entitled to rant about that too.
Fortunately, you didn't have to read or comment on my rant, particularly when you clearly didn't understand the basis for it, or understood it and didn't care. If you go out without a mask because you believe you have a constitutional right to do so despite what health officials have said, disrespecting the health of others around you, then consider yourself lumped in.
Over and out.

This graphic tells me that people under 65 shouldn't have been under quarantine orders in the first place. Taking early precautions is fine but at some point, you're going to have to let those of us who are not in high-risk groups get back to business or the economy will cause worse problems, including more deaths, than covid-19.
Where are you getting your death toll numbers from?

covid death numbers in u.s - Google Search.
Never heard of Sweeden. Oh you mean Sweden!
Well Looks like Sweden is surpassing the U.S. in the COVID-19 death rate.
Sweden sees higher coronavirus death rate than US after refusing lockdown
No one's being sucked into propaganda here but you appear to be willfully ignorant.

I am assuming you can read, it is obvious you have difficulty thinking. Sweden has 297 deaths per million doing nothing, the US has 70 fewer deaths per million by shutting the country down. You realize that 70 deaths per million is less than 1/10,000th of one percent. Sweden also has an older population than the US which is a contributing factor.
It is one thing to be willfully ignorant but it is far worse being so stupid you don't even know you are stupid.
Over 50% of cases are undetected
I definitely do not want anyone else deciding for me what’s for my own good.
And the rest are hard to mistake for anything else. I'm going to start over again, let me know where I lost you: I haven't been out, I haven't seen anybody who has COVID 19, I am not sick, and you don't have the faintest idea of who I am. What is it that makes you think I have COVID 19?
Exactly right. It is your responsibility to take care of yourself. It is the government's responsibility to take care of your rights.
