I have been working from home since March 9. I generally have left home about 1 a week. 3 times to the bank and a few times to drive thru's. The last time I went to the bank during bank hours and it felt strange. People standing outside of the bank waiting to go in. From face covering requirements to being told, under penalty of law, whether you’re allowed to work or who you’re allowed to be with and where and when. Personally, I ****ing hate it (yeah, that’ll be a poll choice) and I’m not even one who’s suffering financially. I am in no danger of losing my job or not being able to support myself. Sometimes I think I should be more content to live as our ”leaders” tell us and just enjoy not having to go in to work every day, but then some new requirement or restriction gets announced, complete with strong encouragement to report non compliance, and I resent the hell out of it all over again.

I don't know who said that, but doctors and scientists knew virtually nothing about Covid-19 up to two months ago.

First of all, Coronavirus has been around since the 60s. Second, there is a large range of opinions from different scientists and medical experts and those opinions are evolving daily. There is no unified opinion.

It was the so called Chinese scientist who said it couldn't be transmitted human to human. This is why I find the morons who always say "i am going to do what the scientist tell me to do" are people who lack the intelligence to think for their selves. Let me give you a little insight. Scientist have people who control their budgets. Scientists will always find what those pulling the purse strings tell them to find.

Yes, I agree with that. Your health and safety has to lie primarily with you. When the government gets in the business of deciding what’s best for us, there isn’t anything they cannot do and justify for the same reasons they’re giving us now. How much safer would we be if cars were banned? I’d bet the risks of dying in a car crash are much greater that contracting this virus then actually dying from it. Hopefully there exists, in your mind, where you would draw the line and not support behavioral control even if it does save lives.

Old people isolated from their families in care facilities are being highly stressed. Domestic abuse is way up. Divorce rates are going up. Families are being destroyed. There are plenty of casualties.

The ignorant want to believe it is lock down or die. They refuse to recognize that precautions can be taken. It is all political and you trying to throw abortion into the mix proves it. You are right on one thing the hypocrisy is deep.

That’s funny, when it was protests in the NFL, that was the most and best American thing ever. When it’s people protesting against huge government control, it’s so wrong and “ridiculous”. What other restrictions would you support to “minimize deaths”? I mean, there are a ton of other things that kill us that the government could take action on. When is it too much control even for you?

Next door to Sweden, Denmark which is not open has fewer deaths because of social distancing. Similar economy, similar life styles, different results. How did Sweden ever become the poster child the memes claim it is?

Clearly there needs to be some middle ground between "my rights, open everything now" and common sense about isolating the disease vectors as much as possible for the good of others.
