Perhaps, the same reason that mass shooter didn’t use public transit for ‘getaway’ transportation - better equipment was available. Expecting criminals, especially those intent on committing multiple homicides, to obey “gun control” laws is ridiculous.

California has no authority to stop guns from Nevada. The federal government is the only entity that can even try.

Of course this conversation always ends up with the pro gun people pulling the second amendment as a trump card, which is really just an argument for a constitutional amendment clafiying the 2nd. To which the gun lovers say will never happen.

Never is a long time, abusing the 2nd amendment will lead to it's demise in a couple of generations.

I'm not Linc, but first I would make yearly gun training mandatory. Next, I've restrict access to weapons being so easy and third I would introduce mental health checks.
On smaller matters, I'd ban guns from schools and places of education.
I'd raise the quality of US police training by a factor of at least 3.

At the moment, I see no sensible solution on the table except "more guns" which is not a long term solution.
