Voting should be one day and in person, here's why:

Right wingers just really hate democracy.

It would give a true picture of where the nation is on one particular day and in unison.
Early voting ensures people make a decision before new information is presented.
Voting by mail is suspect because of the logistics - this applies to both parties.
If you're away on vacation or business on voting day - TOUGH LUCK.
Voting is a choice and a right, but the citizen has to put effort as well.
The only exception is our soldiers and fed employees who should vote where ever they're stationed, but in person.
Voting Day should become a mandatory holiday so every citizen has a chance to vote in person.

What say you ?
Really hard to do that these days. Not enough poll workers, polling places or voting stations to take care of that. We have longer and longer lines now than we did 20 or thirty years ago. More people voting, I guess. Besides, those who vote early or vote by mail are already convince of who they want to vote for. I don't think any new information will change their minds.

This thread has proven one thing: Leftists do not wanted mature, experienced Americans with skin in the game to have the only say in where this country goes.
Holy shit. It just gets worse.
They would rather some woke, brainwashed, stupid 19 year old with a degree in some useless humanities degree run this country.
If a 19 year old has a degree, he would be anything but stupid.
The left hate fascism, but fail to realize they are the #1 reason the right evolves towards it. I know this is a blunt statement on my part, but it seems that because the left can't leave well enough alone and keep pushing normal, good people to the edge, that perhaps right wing fascism, in the end, is an inevitable reaction.
That's right. Let's go back to only white male land owners voting.

That leaves you out.

Haaaaaaaa!!!

The polls are open long enough for everyone to vote IF they want to.
If you can't make these hours then too bad. You know voting day comes once a year and if you are serious about voting then PLAN ahead. Stop with all the excuses!!
I mean really if you can't make voting plans with a years notice, then you probably shouldn't vote!
That is the dumbest thing I ever heard.

It would give a true picture of where the nation is on one particular day and in unison.
actually, it factually wouldn't, it would do the opposite and suppress/lessen the voice of the people
Early voting ensures people make a decision before new information is presented.
if early voting does that ALL voting does that
Voting by mail is suspect because of the logistics - this applies to both parties.
except its not suspect
If you're away on vacation or business on voting day - TOUGH LUCK.
another excellent reason your claims are faulty
Voting is a choice and a right, but the citizen has to put effort as well.
who says otherwise? another false narrative bites the dust
The only exception is our soldiers and fed employees who should vote where ever they're stationed, but in person.

holiday yes, in person no
What say you ?
i say as usual your post is void of facts honest logic and reality . . . . . and its a completely retarded suggestion that has no intellectual merit nor can you back it up in any rational way

the whole country should have a hybrid of what already works, in-person and mail-in like colorado and some others
early voting and mail voting should most certainly be allowed for any reason as long as the requirements for registration, timeline and identification are met
voting day should be a national holiday but again that only effects so much of the workforce

Nothing can be perfect - it's just an idea.
yes a dumb one
The bigger point is I think voting should be one day and in person.
The smaller logistical issues can be sorted out.
Exceptions can/will be made, but for 99% of the population it would be feasible.
factual proof of that claim? oh thats right you have no as usual lol

I feel the left has benefited greatly with early, mail in, and absentee voting.
It's not an equal playing field.
If the shoe was on the other foot, the left would rightfully be wanting changes.
BOOM!!! and there it is . . the retarded biased false narrative and lie when its just a want to suppress votes we all knew was your reasoning. LOL
your posts represent the problem instead of the solution , pathetic

Yeah. You are clearly not reading this thread, because whatever it is you regurgitated up there, is not at all what is happening in this thread.
I mean I get it, you are an alternative facts kind of guy, so I am sure that is how the words on the screen are aligning for you. Lotsa luck with that, by the way.

If the country voted left but only those 25 years and older could vote, I would accept it.
I won't accept my country being influenced by those under 25.
No one cares what you will or will not accept. This is just a ****ing cry-towel of a thread, and should have been aborted upon birth.

We've moved past where only land-owning men were allowed to cast ballots.

We aren't interested in going back. This is 2022.

If you'd like to be a member of that sort of society, I'm sure you can find one to move to. It doesn't exist in the United States in 2022 and won't in the future.
And the irony of this? If he is who and what he claims he is, he would have never gotten a ****ing vote if we still did it that way.
But you know he digs it anyway, because of...reasons.

What say you ?

Well, this lived down to my expectations for it.

So I say "no".

Disagree.
Voting should be made as easy as possible for every registered voter.
Mail in voting, extended days of voting, early voting.
The fact remains that even with the far right harping of 'voter fraud' it has never proven to be a extensive or wide spread problem in the US.

You were already there. Stop your lies.

I accept democracy if only those with skin in the game and maturity can vote.
That isn't too much to ask.

So if there's no Jim Crow, you won't vote?

So long as the lineups in wealthy white neighbourhoods are just as long as the lineups in poor ethnic neighbourhoods.
But we know how that would play out, don't we.
I've never waited longer than two or three minutes to vote, ballot in hand and waiting for an empty booth. An election is such a simple process, its mindboggling how many ways it can be screwed up.

How long do you have to line up in your district?

Voting should be 100% mail in, like it is where I live (very rural) and in states like Colorado.

Voting should be easy and mail in is the easiest way.

Not all change is necessary, or good.
I feel the left has benefited greatly with early, mail in, and absentee voting.
It's not an equal playing field.
If the shoe was on the other foot, the left would rightfully be wanting changes.
That makes no sense at all. All people are equal and have the same opportunities. right? Early, mail in, and absentee voting should benefit all people, not just the left.

Other than making it a holiday the rest of your post is pure crappola. What difference does it make if we vote over a period of weeks? If new information becomes available so what? Mail in has been the norm in a few states with no major fraud. All you really want is a reduction in voter participation on the Democratic side.

This is what I'm saying !
If you love democracy so much, and you know when voting day is a year in advance, prove it by showing up that day.
How long should a person wait in line to vote? Should a person be able to go into any district and vote or are they just suppose to vote in the district assigned to them?

What exactly is stopping the right from reaping those same benefits, whatever they are?

The rural area that I live in is all mail in and heavily Republican.

Mail in voting isn't partisan.

It wouldn't be longer than a couple of hours if we added more locations and volunteers.
Hell, you could take my tax money to actually hire paid workers to make this happen.
One day, one vote, in person. Nothing would better resemble democracy in action.

Mail in voting isn't partisan.
Except when urban areas made it popular during the pandemic, then suddenly, it became a partisan issue.

So the goal here is to ensure that as few Americans as possible are participating in the democratic process without taking away their right to do so?

The fewer people that are voting in your elections, the weaker your democracy is.
