Video Shows Indiana Teacher Slam Student's Head Against A Wall Before He Collapses To The Ground

actually, i was alarmed by a parent who was willing to allow their child to be taught by a teacher who had committed violence against that student
was hoping there was something which might explain what otherwise appears to be a combination of neglect of a child and indifference toward a child abuser

Obvious troll is obvious.

The scary thing to me is that the kid collapsed after...I would be concerned about brain injury. I dont know how long ago this took place anymore, so hopefully he's all clear. The disparity in size to me should also be considered...the use of that force against a child.

But I guess the 'moderate' is a judgement call 🤷 If I was the parents, I'd be furious but I really do think they'll be bringing a civil suit.

You may be right. I'm a bit of a cynic. I once tapped a student on his knapsack to get his attention because he was on the wrong way to the principals office and he let it slide off his back and onto the floor and claimed that I pulled it off of him. This reminded me a bit of that.

what is obvious is that you tolerated an adult physically assaulting your child
and your response was to allow that adult to continue to remain as your child's teacher
the time for Obvious measures was then

One of the articles gave the police account which included a bloody nose and a bruise on the back of the head. Not saying that the kid hasn't couldn't have added a little soccer embellishment, but it sounds like he was really hurt.

I got beat up by my PE teacher when I was in the 8th grade. It was an on base school, where the teachers were all hired from in town in Minot ND.

They pretty much hated us because we were worldly and they hadn't been anywhere in their whole lives. We were in the library supposedly reading our new health book. I was drawing cartoons of the teachers and putting their names under each one. That caused the other kids at my table to laugh out loud, drawing attention to me and my drawing.

I was escorted to Mt. Hurd's office, where he punched me in the breastbone with the heel of his palm. After that he dragged me into the locker room and started slamming me against various lockers and throwing me around. I could witness the action in the many mirrors, and found it to be surreal. I think he was roughing me up to get me to retaliate, but I'm not stupid.

The chest punch hurt for a couple of weeks, but that was the only damage. Then he wanted me to practice with the track team, but not be on the team. I got out of that with a note from a doctor because of a previous skateboard injury, so they switched it to detention for the last three weeks of the school year. Four days later we moved to Omaha.

I didn't tell my folks until after we moved. They were mad that I didn't tell them earlier, but I knew that there weren't any witnesses and he would simply deny it.
I was 13 when he was mid-forties, I'm 66 and he's dead now. I win!
Your thought process should have been doctors would back up your claims.

I would have filed so many claims against the guy he wouldn't know what to do. Age means nothing.

It would seem serious to me if the blow to the back of the head caused a nose bleed. That leads me to believe something is going on inside his head.

It does.

Civil suit at minimum and I bet the school is scrambling now.

IMO that's criminal assault too. He was at least twice that kid's size...what a freaking bully.
He ought to be locked up for a few years at least.

I think the punch to the face caused the nosebleed. I agree - at the time of the incident these injuries would make me nervous, and say 'we better get you checked out at an ER'. But we're beyond that now, and in hindsight, we know the injuries were minor.
