US shoots down ‘high-altitude object’ over Alaska, White House says

Presidents don't make decisions on shooting things out of the sky on whims.

Maybe the right call, maybe an over abundance of caution, but Biden's call to make as Commander-in-Chief.

I don't know enough to know if I support the call, but I support that it was Biden's call to make.
They should have jammed it, lone star style.

Definitely heightened awareness is happening. Another object over Canada is being tracked by NORAD according to CNN.

They be shootin' down shit left and right up there.

I am pretty sure it's because the president is commander in chief of the armed forces.

If high school civics serves...
He wants to diss Biden so badly, he's throwing everything but the kitchen sink against the wall hoping something will stick. It's so pathetic and obvious.

lol. nope.

If / when Biden does something that deserves praise, I'll give it. We're talking about this specific situation. In this case, it's more about his staff than Biden.

Do you think that something like this requires a presidential level decision?

He had to give the order...without him, they would not be shot down. Did you forget he is the CIC?

Unless it's specifically delegated to the theater military commander, yes, which it is not.

We know it's not because Biden gave the order. Or Biden could cancel any specific order to assume command.

It's the case anyway that only two Americans can issue an order to the armed forces, the SecDef and the Potus/CinC. No one else can issue an order to the armed forces, unless the national command authority delegates it in specific terms. The national command authority is guess who -- Potus/CinC and SecDef. Only. Staff cannot issue orders to the armed forces as every national security staff civilian or military knows.

Sorry sport.

Where did I say that we catch them all? I said we are catching more than Trump did.

because there are far far more to catch is the logical conclusion

The commander in chief does not have to give an order for every task.

That's my point. This is a task that can and should be delegated.

For this, it is required. They are shooting something from a foreign country out of the sky....it requires his seal of approval.
Source? Does it matter if it's foreign?

Noting again that there's a difference between 'approval' and 'giving an order'.

since they are coming from outside the country and do not have permission to be in our airspace....and we know the first one was Chinese...we can assume the others are foreign as well. Or are you suggesting that someone in the US is flying them through Canada and other countries?

The administration says they don’t even know what they are let alone who owns them.

Riiiiiiiiight.

Yes, every president deserves both a healthy dose of respect and skepticism. If you are viewing one as 'all bad' or 'all good' it says more about your biases.

Speak for yourself. You haven't said anything good about Biden since I started reading your posts. You're really nothing but a troll here. Not sure why I bother reading your posts. Probably should stop wasting my time.
