Universal background checks were on the ballot in two states, Nevada and Maine, and in Nevada it passed, by less then half a percentage point, and failed outright in Maine. What happened? Everyone supports common sense background checks I thought?

Those 80% claims are made by the same people who tell us that certain civilian firearms are weapons of war, that 20-30 round standard capacity magazines are really high capacity magazines or that no one wants to ban or take guns away even though they support UK and Australian gun control laws and support assault weapons bans and so called high capacity magazine bans and wish to severely restrict firearms. So logic would dictate that since anti-2nd amendment trash tend to lie their ass off when comes to firearms that any claim that comes out of their mouths is horse ****. Meaning the 80% claim made by anti-2nd amendment trash is nothing more than a lie.

The probelm is with the process - both parties and the gun must go to a FFL dealer and await their service, pay that dealer a "reasonablle fee" (the atcual amount is not specifiiied) upfront, fill out form 4473 and then a free NICS BG check is done. Of course, that is neither free nor universal (no record of ownership or transfer is required) and results in a federal record of the sale.

The quesion of "how will this UBGC law be enforced?" is never addressed. If J. Q. Public has a gun then who is ever to know when and from who that gun was acquired? In other words, paying that "reasonablle fee" did nothing but enrich the FFL dealer. Rest assured that gun registation is shortly to follow.

There isn't a prayer in hell that more background checks are going to pass. Gun control is dead in the water.

Liberals have been moving into Maine from Ct. & Mass. and buying up the coastline for the past 35-40 years.............................. bringing their BS liberal views with them.

Look at the map and you will see solid blue from Bar Harbor to Augusta and then down to Kittery.

The rest of the state is conservative.

It's just a matter of time before the entire state is owned by liberals.

We've had UBCs in CO since 2013. The FFL is limited by law to how much they can charge for the background check, but they can charge anything they want for the transfer, and we've seen total transfer costs over $50 from some FFLs. Quite a few don't even do transfers for private sales.

Clinton claimed that most people supported his unconstitutional gun ban in 1994. That was until the Democrat gun banners got their collective asses handed to them in the mid-term elections. Many people have learned that the Brady bill hasn't done squat to decrease violent crime and has cost taxpayers millions of dollars. The only way for UBGC to even be enforced is with complete gun registration. They know that if UBGCs are passed the Bannerrhoid politicians will be demanding registration when UBGC's cannot be enforced

We got this law in Oregon last year and many of the law enforcement folks won't bother to enforce it and it's pretty much ignored!

We told the Gov. that we would ignore it, when she signed it!
Nevada folks, will to the same.

There isn't a prayer in hell that more background checks are going to pass. Gun control is dead in the water.

I certainly hope so....and that is one of the best things from this election.

Sad, similar to Oregon, where 50% live in the Portland Metro or Eugene area and out vote the other others. It's not really a blue state, but the masses of liberal dickheads in Portland, make it seem so.

Smart people!

If liberals hate the rich, why do they live rich lives?

California passed regulations on ammo purchases. With Trump and a super majority, there's not going to be much in the way of national gun control, so we'll have to watch closely when there are mass shootings to see what the solution is going to be.

I'ma little worried though about how the terrorist network is going to take this Trump election...

Because they are massive....................HYPOCRITES!

Hopefully with a grenade up their ass!!! ;)

As for the ammo law in Calif., it's Damn stupid and will accomplish nothing, except to inconvenience and unduly burden everyone involved! The law abiding...not the criminals.

California cannot stop illegal immigration or drugs. How in the Hell do they think this asinine law will matter? I can foresee a huge Black Market. Friends and relatives coming into the state, will bring Christmas and birthday gifts galore.

Those traveling outside of Calif., will purchase ammo in the surrounding states.

My friend in NorCal, reloads his own and has a lifetime supply of components....there are hundreds or thousands more like him.

Another stupid liberal law and a waste of taxpayer dollars! Jerry Brown and the Ca. Legislature are a bunch of doucebags!

I'm recommending Joe Arpaio to the WH for an Ambassadorship to Mexico. Do you like that idea?

Well, Jerry Brown didn't author Prop 63, Gavin Newsome did. I can't stand him, but the law is a start for a state with a lot of gang and cartel activity. So, you don't know what you're talking about. I'm glad your friend reloads his own; but he still has to get the powder and Amazon doesn't sell it.

I'm surprised it passed in Nevada. I myself am against them, I think (and I'm serious here) they don't help keep guns out of criminal hands. In fact, I think because convicts can't own fire arms at all, is the leading cause of Black Market Gun sales. I would rather a criminal have a registered legally obtained fire arm. Because, they going to kill who ever it is they going to kill anyway. Might as well make it easier to catch them.

But what do I know, according to the NRA Nuts, I'm a liberal. So you can't agree with me...

Amazon doesn't sell meth or heroin, either, yet the buyers don't have a problem getting it. Maybe it should be illegal.

Yeah, that's right; his friend can always be a criminal.

Not in the states that want it. Prop 63 passed in California.

It's time for the NRA to graduate from defending our gun rights to going on the offensive to take more of our rights back..
The time is ripe, I would like to see it start with silencers and graduate to SBRs and maybe a universal right to concealed carry with no permit required to purchase or carry sort of deal..

Yeah, everybody shooting it out with cartel gangs would be cool wouldn't it? Just think; a .50 cal 'n about 10,000 rounds mounted on the roof next to your chimney: nobody better mess with you boy.

California's a unique case, and with some Trump nominees on the SCOTUS your state is going to be in for some real fun times with these right to carry lawsuits!

Joe Arpaio is a crook, Trump or no Trump he's heading for an orange jumpsuit, or maybe pink is more his thing?

Pretty sure these laws are a ripe pain in the cartel's asses in Arizona where these laws exist.. Only applies to legal citizens though so sorry..

Well..
If that's what the guy wants then whatever.. He would still be pretty easy to take out if he caused any trouble and permanently MOUNTED to his own house where is it immobile to me makes it sound a lot less threatening actually, sounds like good intent keeping it at home eh?

I wouldn't spend the money on it myself, can think of much more efficient ways of accomplishing security, but if ya got the money to blow YOLO right?

Well, it wasn't about "right to carry". Yeah, I think that courts and gun control are going to be pretty busy for while, and when there's another mass shooting etc, it's going to be interesting to see how the new government reacts.

No, cartels and gangs buy a lot of their stuff from AR, so I'm they appreciate the help.

As for the rest of your post: nonsense.
