Let's hope the Fed fails in their attempts at killing jobs.

Job growth was stronger than expected in October despite Federal Reserve interest rate increases aimed at slowing what is still a strong labor market.
Nonfarm payrolls grew by 261,000 for the month while the unemployment rate moved higher to 3.7%, the Labor Department reported Friday. Those payroll numbers were better than the Dow Jones estimate for 205,000 more jobs, but worse than the 3.5% estimate for the unemployment rate.

Its nice we are adding jobs, but I agree, hoping that the Fed doesn't squash any continual progress.

Good news on this Friday morning. But you should have let Conservative start this thread himself.

Under 4% unemployment. That is truly amazing for this country. I never thought I'd see that again in my lifetime.

Such a terrible economy we have right now... Jobs and wages up, huge corporate profits, all sorts of terrible signs...

They're already showing some success. Let's hope they don't overtighten if they haven't already.

Household survey showing 328k jobs lost. Unemployment rate up. Tech sector has been announcing big layoffs...

I'd be curious what that "tipping point" is that the Feds would then ease interest rates in favor of helping hourly rates over curbing inflation.

But then again, from what the Republicans are pushing, investigating Hunter Biden will ease inflation ;)
Two things come into play: 1. If people live paycheck to paycheck then everything they make they'll spend. If people are good consumers then they'll price shop and demand some value for what they spend. On the other hand if they're confident of a ever increasing paycheck, they won't care and will buy at any price which is inflationary. After all, money is a renewable resource. 2. We need to avoid the cycle of the expense of rising wages being passed on to the consumer as higher prices, which of course causes the workers to demand even higher wages.

Congratulations, Radicals, keep taking a victory lap for employment that still remains below Pre pandemic Trump numbers and his 39% approval rating on the economy. Do they teach basic economics and civics in the schools these days? Still celebrating the over 8% inflation rate and mortgage rates that have more than doubled?

Congratulations America for continuing your positive trend forward. We have faith in you!
Bad news for the Trump lickers who continually wish for America to fail.

Unemployment ticked up. Odd. But not concerning.

What planet did you say you lived on? It certainly isn't this one.

When I was growing up I could only dream of unemployment at below 4 percent. The only lay off in my area is the RV industry and that's because they over produced and less people buy them this time of year. Otherwise here in the midwest things are going gangbusters as far as the economy and employers are begging for employees. Even my local grocery story is paying close to $15.00 an hour begging for help.

Positive trend? Are there more or less people employed today than February 2020. There anything called accountability in the left's world? You think America is succeeding under Biden with less people employed than February 2020 and over 8% inflation? Such loyalty, why?

Unemployment ticked up. Odd. But not concerning.
In February 2020 what was the employment number for the country vs today? Labor force was 164.6 then vs 165.7 now, Why are so many Americans staying home and not working as Commerce shows almost 11 million jobs available? Think about it

except for the reality that the labor force increases almost a million in the last two years, one would expect more people to be employed vs February 2020 but that isn't the case

your "labor force 164 then vs. 165 now"... please put units to that. What the **** are you talking about? 165 seems bigger than 164, but since you haven't provided context so I've no idea.

Context is 165 million in the labor force NOW but 200K less employed, why is that? 158.8 million employed with a labor force of 164 million and now 158.6 million employed with a 165 million labor force, the question is why are people staying home and not taking the almost 11 million jobs available.

yes, the unemployment rate has ticked up from its low in 2020.

I don't have an answer as to why that is, but I'm sure that the president will address it this weekend from one of his vacation properties.
