Before the GOP became beholden to Dominionist Christians, they were actually quite objective in regards to Israel. Now its all about Jesus and the second coming. The Cold War ended and so should have our acceptance of everything Israel did no matter how horrible. But here we are, the Christians want us to defend the Jews because when Jesus comes, he is going to pick the good Jews from the bad Jews, take the good Christians up into heaven and destroy the rest of us. That's a nice little bit of disinformation from the Israeli lobby that you're parroting. The truth is evangelical Christians are not a one-issue voting block that only cares about Israel. Most Americans couldn't care less about Israel. The issues they care about are the economy, healthcare, immigration, law & order, and other issues that fall within the category of domestic policy.
The Israeli lobby, which is composed of American Jews who use money to determine who gets to Washington DC and who doesn't, is 100% responsible for the monopoly that Zionists enjoy in our democracy. And although most American Jews are Democrats who want an open society for America, 95% of all American Jews support the State of Israel being exclusively Jewish, or dominated by Jewish interests.

The argument that says evangelical Christians are responsible for Zionist Jewish hegemony over DC is, as they like to say, a 'canard'.
