U.S. government posts $378 billion deficit in March | Reuters

I'm not much of a deficit hawk in general, but deficits should be small or nonexistent during high inflation, low unemployment, and a booming economy. This is not great fiscal policy.

We sure have that low-tax-increase-spending in a recession down pat. But we seem to have forgotten the other side of the Keynesian model.

because a "D" is in the white house even though the WH does not have anything to do with spending bills.
There is an absence in leadership from the white house, even within his own party, on fiscal issues. But sure, spending bills originate in the house. Nancy Pelosi has been responsible for more national debt than any president.

because its important . Bush started the debt and every president and congressman have added to it. Has noting to do with democrat or republican but debt . We owe over 32 trillion dollars where's that going tom come from and what happens when we can not borrow any more think about it .

Projection.

How long will our idiot law makers keep spending like this ?
"Omnibus"! "Comprehensive" x, y and z!

No true budget process in over a decade. Pathetic.

OP does not mention party. "Law makers" are referenced.

your opinion is noted and tossed to the side. For the fun of it, let's just pretend that an R president and R legisliators dont have a spending problem, ok?

So important you did not even bother to learn about it? Hint: the debt was around before Bush…

clean up your own house first before lecturing others on how to spend/cut.

That's reality. 'toss it to the side' if you wish.

Have republicans been perfect? Absolutely not. But they've at least made some attempt at restraint.

Sees like a political forum would be a good place to discuss tax reform with intent to resolve the issue without letting political party become the primary issue.

100% agree. Raise taxes (probably by a lot) and lower spending

if you looked I mentioned bush but the debt was small in the past
let's not kid ourselves. He wouldn't have made this tread if an R was in office now.
O yes I would . we are running up debt we can not pay. All politicians are guilty .

Both sides have made attempts. Let's not be partisan here.

That is simply not the case. Republican Presidents, when they have the House and 50 in the Senate, cut taxes almost immediately. Even during expansions.

Talking about spending. It's a spending issue.

The procrastinators pay taxes in April and other people pay them in January. This is a pretty normal situation.
