1. Flynn was not told he was being investigated.

But Flynn wasn't the target of the investigation. The investigation was regarding the Trump campaign involvement with Russia.

Are you saying that Flynn assumed he was free to lie?

2. Flynn thought they didn't "need to know"

So, he should have told them the information was confidential. He didn't have to lie. If someone doesn't need to know, you don't tell them. You don't lie to them. Especially, when you know it's illegal to lie to investigators.

Your claim that this is how intelligence agencies works is nonsense. If Flynn believed the information was confidential he could have said so. He didn't need to lie to investigators.

He lied to protect Donald Trump politically, just as so many others involved in Trump's campaign lied to protect Trump politically.

1. Why would he lie does not change the fact that he lied.

2. But he wasn't uncertain. That's a lie. "George Washington, did you cut down the cherry tree?" "I am uncertain." That's a lie. Why are you so confused about what a lie is?

3. The fact that the agents initially believed him doesn't change the fact that he lied. If you sound convincing and I believe you but later discover you lied to me, why does it matter that I believed you at first?

How do you know this? Pleading guilty doesn't make it so, especially considering how the FBI was threatening to to prosecute his son.

The FBI knew every word that was said in that conversion before hand. The agents knew the answer to that specific question before they posed it to him, so there was no discovering later that he lied.

Nowhere has it been reported that the agents who questioned him changed their mind about Flynn. The decision to charge him was not made by the agents who questioned him, it was made FBI and DOJ leadership on the 7th floor.

Not one of those "revelations" explains Flynn's 2 guilty pleas and his confessions about lying to the FBI that he made as a part of those pleas. WTF? Are we now on Mars?
