Trump's Swipe at Martinez Alarms GOP

Bernie Sanders has a completely different ideology from Donald J Trump. The truth is that they are polar opposites when it comes to issues.

Yeah. Like, for example, universal health care. And raising the minimum wage. And entitlement reform. And trade. And taxing upper income earners.... Not to mention social issues like transgender bathrooms, planned parenthood, gay marriage, etc.

Polar Opposites, I tell you. Except that they are pretty much on the same side. But other than that! Polar Opposites.

This is going to be an interesting election.

It's already that - and boy, do we understand why in China that's considered a curse.

Obviously, you are not going to vote for him, regardless of what he says or does therefore there is no reason for him to even try to appeal to your or try to curry your favor at the polls. Your reasons for hating him are clear, but Hillary R Clinton has many of those same characteristics and is a long time established politician. Americans are pretty much tired of establishment.

I concur that he and Hillary are extremely similar. I note that you don't answer any of the points.

I am a Trump supporter. I've watched this country get the short end of the stick in every negotiation that we have been involved in. Really, we are supposed to rejoice when we give up five high ranking Taliban for one low ranking US Army deserter? Everything that we go into we seem to be negotiating from a position of weakness. Trump wrote the book on dealmaking, literally. I want to see an America first presidency.

And that deal with Iran! What did the USA get out of that?
And duh.....Obama was disappointed that Iran violated the deal! Obama didn't expect that?

I like what Trump is saying. He may be over the top when he delivers his message - but that's what made him the talk of media!
Good or bad, publicity is publicity! He managed to get billions of free publicity!

I like how he plays loops around the media, too. He's good at taking control - just the way he takes control of the media is proof of that!

Political correctness does not infringe upon free speech. You aren't facing criminal charges for saying racist or misogynistic **** (Trump is explicit proof of that). But free speech doesn't allow you to say these things without being criticized in return.

We've got "hate laws" for saying certain things.

By not answer the points, you mean take them one by one and whine and complain that they are the same on the same page on some issues? They are also on opposite sides of issues. I'm not going to dig up a bunch of links to show them. They are easy to find. If you are really interested, I put a link to one such comparison. Just think about their positions on illegal immigrants here in the country. That is an example of a major difference between them. Do you acknowledge that they have as many differences as similarities? Because if they both have the same positions, is the only reason you won't support Trump because you feel that he's a rude and not a seasoned politician?

I honestly, can't think of a single deal that we have made during this Administration that was made from a position of strength where we got a good deal. There may be one but I don't know what it is.

Liberals are so concerned about the Republican party, they don't see trumps move to capture democrat votes from the democrat middle class who aren't all that happy with their choices put forth by the party - namely a "pre felon" and a socialist.

The middle class is tired of seeing EBT cards being used for steak and lobster, and all manner of thing the middle class grunt can't afford.

But thanks for the advice.

I've got some for you. Dump Clinton. Dump Sanders.

I find it ironic that the left looks for every reason to hate Donald J Trump. In truth, he's a moderate, he shares many of their ideas. If he had a (D) after his name they would be embracing him as the second coming.

Good point.
The only thing "conservative" about Donald Trump is the R after his name, yet he's managed to con the Republicans into selecting him as their candidate, this even before all of the primaries have been held. If he had a D after his name, would the Democrats have been equally foolish? I suppose we'll never know for sure, but we will know how many of the general electorate have been taken in in November.

Or, maybe we'll just see how many think Clinton is an even worse choice.

Dump all three and start over.

I think you're getting your wires crossed. That series of points was about Trump himself, not comparative.

The list of policies and instincts in which Sanders and Trump overlap (which is significant) was in the post 101, which you did not directly respond to.

Dump all three and start over.

Start over? How much do you expect me to endure? I'm too old for this start over stuff. Starting over will necessarily involve a lot of alcohol. Oh, I get it. You're trying to kill me. I know I'm bad, but am I really that bad? Yeah, don't answer that. Pretend I never asked.

We've got "hate laws" for saying certain things.

Hate laws that purely punished speech would be unconstitutional. Hate speech that amounts to an action is the only thing which can be punished criminally.

Middle class don't see EBT cards being used for steak and lobster. That's a ridiculously bull**** assertion.

It's like Tennessee passing a law to drug test welfare recipients...spending millions of dollars to test them...and catching a grand total of....ZERO.

Great ****ing use of tax dollars.

Iran has not violated the nuclear deal. Iran has complied with every aspect of the deal. The United States got its first international agreement with Iran in more than 40 years, it got Iran to voluntarily submit to the most intrusive inspection regime in the entire planet, to fill a nuclear reactor core with cement, and to dismantle thousands of its centrifuges.

Hey, let me buy you a beer.

How much alcohol will it take to get through four years of President Trump?

Yep. Florida did the same thing, and with the same result. We should drug test Congress instead.

you make an excellent point

it is so much better - and more fun - to be poor than to be middle class

congratulations on that keen observation of social status

prediction: these repeated injections of the truth will not prevent near identical misrepresentative statements to be posted in the future

Alright Tres, I am sorry that I insulted you by implying you would change your opinion on Trump. You can stop being a dick.

You may want to remember that we aren't supposed to personally insult others. Calling me a dick is a personal insult.

Republicans are not always staunch conservatives. There is far more to the party than just that far right wing. Like some people have said for years, it is a big tent. There are those that have said that Ronald Reagan was a very liberal Republican.
