Trump warns 'any' protesters at military parade will be 'met with heavy force'

At the US Capitol on Jan 6 there were a large number of peaceful protesters, and a handful that were not. Even still when the capitol was breached, people milled around for a while, and left. Peace was restored in hours. It's not even remotely comparable to what's happening in Los Angeles.

That's much different than the rioting, looting, and destruction going on in Los Angeles. That's what's inexcusable.
We'll have to agree to disagree on whether a president's attempt to void an election is a worse action that people protesting a president's illegal action.

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

Do you think someone there could get your President up to speed?

The military wanting to celebrate its birthday is weird.

Just give all the soliders the day off. Would be way better way to celebrate.
Do they want to, or are they being ordered to? Big difference. Given Trump's denigrating, insulting and dismissing the military who gave their lives as 'losers' and 'suckers', I very much doubt there's much, if any, affection for him. The parade will go ahead because Trump ordered it, and for no other reason, but in Trump's demented mind they will be adoring him.

No, the first line isn't exaggerated. The Capitol was closed to trump's violent thugs.

And, yes, you really did effectively write, in Post #108, that trump's goons' wounding at least 140 law enforcement officers was "acceptable".
Yes, exaggerated. And no, I never said what happened was acceptable.
I'm not surprised: MAGA in general ignores t[deflection removed]
MAGA is a straw man of the left, and certainly doesn't describe me.

I'm not interested in your mudslinging and deflection. Good day.

You aren't even talking about comparable things.

Violent fascist thug threatening people using their first amendment rights by protesting this apes existence and his bullshit military parade.
When can we expect the declaration of marital law? Before or after the parade? Thanks in advance!

Yes @Tangmo , I know....

I wait with interest to see what goes horribly wrong.
It's the US Army... so much is going to go wrong.

I'd be more interested to see if anything goes right.

The army has been planning this celebration for two years, according to them.
Nothing anywhere near the full-blown parade of military hardware down Constitution Avenue and flyover of military aircraft that will cost American taxpayers $45M.

Well, you lefties just go too far with your hate. The Army's 250th birthday is a modern event to be honored with dignity and respect. I do hope that any "peaceful protest" that is outsde the definition of "peaceful", is dealt with using the full force of law.

As an Army veteran. You haters absolutely disgust me.

It isn’t about the Army. DERP

I'm guessing TACO will chicken out again. Because there WILL be protests to his "I wanna be a commie leader" parade.
I think that the show of force in LA was so that Trump could use that threat of force to keep protesters away from his parade.

You are indeed one in a hundred million who know there is and never has been a federal martial law.

One of two here at DP who knew -- until now.

Your post went over the heads of 99.9% of readers I'm afraid. You may have assumed too much in this matter where everybody and his mother in law is talking about Trump doing martial law, which does not exist in the federal laws or in the Constitution.

Cheers.

Damn, you bought that story hook line and sinker.

It's not as if Trump and MagaMericans do not know. They know and have known for years and they hate the whole of it. It's liberal and "slightly liberal" posts that need to get up to speed about MagaMericans who are hard core fascists of their 21st century America.

What laws have CONGRESS made in this regard? I am looking to get "up to speed". Thanks!

Notice the word "peaceably."

and yet trump has done things that were said to be illegal, including twice being severely reversed by scotus.
so saying "trump cant do that because its not in the constitution" is an interesting but not useful statement.
