Trump under fire for claiming he never said he would reverse Obamacare in 64 days - d

Re: Trump under fire for claiming he never said he would reverse Obamacare in 64 days

I keep hearing you guys say that all politicians lie.

They do.

But Trump does it with a frequency that implies a compulsive behavior.

And Hillary didn't? Trust me when I tell you that NO ONE including you buys that.

I wouldn't want you to waste your hard earned income on booze when you could give it to other people.

That's the story of my life

Hillary did not lie with the frequency of Donald Trump, no. The man just can't help himself. Much like you just cannot help but whine about Hillary.

Right off the bat he claimed the largest electoral college victory since Reagan. That's the sort of lie I'm talking about. The nonsensical lie about something that doesn't matter. That's the lie that exposes the compulsion. Most politicians will lie about something when they 1) Think it will provide and advantage and 2) Think they can get away with it. But Trump will lie when it's neither of those things! He just spits **** out in a constant stream of "look how awesome I am." Have you ever met a 3rd grader who just makes crap up? "Yesterday I jumped high enough to dunk a basketball. But nobody saw me because it was at the end of gym class." Trump never got over that.

Obamacare (the ACA) didn't negatively impact me. I have employer funded insurance. Always did. Always will, until I retire and end up with Medicare, like everyone else does. I get my mammograms paid for by my insurance company now. That's about the only effect I've seen from the ACA. I don't care at this point if it stays or goes. So I don't "keep" anything.

I don't care if Trump failed you. That's on you. You bought into the lies of the lifelong Democrat who, until he decided to sucker you into thinking he was a Republican, was a vocal advocate of single payer. Unlike you, I didn't expect anything from the man. And as it turned out, it looks like I was right after all. He is already a failure and it isn't going to get any better.

If your employer pays your entire premiums, then you are not affected by the ACA. However those who get their insurance in the individual market, the ACA sent the cost into outer space. My premiums, had I accepted the Obamacare approved policy went up 300% and my deductible 500%. And that's just in 2013. No telling what it would cost now with all the increases since 2013. Even my the cost of insurance offered by my employer went up 200%.

Which is why I said the ACA didn't impact me negatively. It didn't. That's a fact. It didn't impact most people in the country negatively (those of us with employer sponsored insurance).

The cost of my employer's insurance went up, as it has for the previous decade, but not at the rate it was pre-ACA, and not anywhere near 200%. Maybe 20% in total over an entire 9 year period. No, my employer doesn't pay the entire premium cost. They pay 65% and I pay the rest.

The ACA did help a lot of people. It had some good elements, like the pre-existing condition clause. Other than that, I don't have much of an opinion either way, because I don't care if it's repealed and replaced by basically the same thing, without the mandate and with 26 million people or so no longer getting insurance.
