Trump to use military to round up asylum claimants

Facts are indeed facts - and crap data in is crap data out. Refusing to count crimes committed by illegals and then declaring they commit them less is like compiling a list of every Democratic politician to ever cheat on their wife, adding "Donald Trump" to the bottom, and then proudly announcing that Republicans Are The Party Of Moral Decency, because - look! - there's only one Republican name on this list!

What is your evidence that crimes committed by illegals are deliberately not counted?

Let me guess, you just believe it without evidence, right?

Someone has to clean up the mess left by the last administration.

You all voted for xenophobia, this is what you get. I find it disgusting but, you are the winners. Trump made it clear he was going to be an authoritarian and he is delivering. No one should be surprised. They voted for this.

The funny thing is people already have buyers remorse. That’s how uninformed the country is

It's legal if you apply at a legal port of entry. If you just sneak in, you are a criminal. And let's be intellectually honest. Those turds sneaking across the border do so with no intention of rquesting asylum. That is merely what the cartel coyotes who smuggle them in tell them to shoput if they are caught.

The Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio came in through a legal port of entry. Trump and Vance still called them illegals.

Trump called the legal Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio “illegals” on multiple occasions. That is a fact not “MSM propaganda”.
Even a broken clock is right twice a day, but that wouldn't mean you'd rely on it, does it now? Or maybe you would? I dunno, and frankly, I don't care what clock you use.

Without any question, as is in the public record, the MSM have been propagandizing, taking quote fragments out of context, for the sole purpose of creating false and baseless political attack vectors.

Even so, this had nothing to do with the post you responded to.

You have it backwards. They do not report data, because they choose not to collect it.

One anecdotal example from my personal life. After college, two of my friends and I moved into a condo in a low-rent part of town (we were still broke waiters and booksellers). We were the only white kids in about a square mile, the rest was all hispanic. Most were probably varying shades of legality, but we thought it was cool because, bloc parties and great mexican food.

One of my buddies had a classic mustang he had rebuilt with his dad - beautiful car. The guy had a kind of awkward relationship with his dad (his dad was kind of a Man's Man who thought men should make things. My buddy was a theater major who loved fantasy novels), and, I think building that car together was kind of The Thing They Had.

Anywho, he's sitting at a stop sign one day and one of our neighbors T-Bones him, doing maybe about 35, which isn't terribly fast, until it hits you in the side. The other driver then pulled back, and drove off. Car was all smashed up. Naturally, we called the cops. They came and took notes and then asked if we knew anything about the guy, a tag number, etc.

"Oh yes" we replied, naively, "he lives in that apartment section right there, and works at [Restaurant name] down the road - he's probably there now on shift, and will be back tonight."

The two cops look at each other. "Er, is he an illegal?"

"Uh, maybe - why?"

...And that is when we found out that the regular law that applies to you and me doesn't apply to illegals. Because it's too much trouble and paperwork, so long as they aren't actually physically attacking anyone, the cops were under direction not to ticket them, not to arrest them, not to take them in, not to do anything that would force them to notice that the people they were interacting with were here illegally. Tough luck, kid, you understand, I'm sorry, but there's nothing we can do - you'll just have to fix the car.

This wasn't in some kind of deep-blue San-Fransisco-type area of a deep-blue state. This was in Alabama. During the Bush Administration.

My buddy tried to confront the guy and get him to pay for the damages, but that went south pretty fast, and we left after being threatened with violence. We slept with loaded weapons next to our beds after that until the lease was up.

Anecdotes are not data. Especially when you are trying to use them to imply that it’s a nation-wide occurrence.

It's NOT business like usually. We don't want to give these illegals the impression that they can just hang around and keep ignoring the laws of this great nation.
This goes for all criminals right?

So you admit that Trump has called non-white legal immigrants “illegals”?

The Haitian immigrants in Springfield Ohio came in through a legal port of entry. Trump and Vance still called them illegals.
They are still illegals as they should have been told to remain in Mexico while their asylum claims were considered.

How many billions of dollars would it cost to legally review and process 2 million case?! The system is so screwed up and opportunists from all over the world is taking advantage of us. You got to be blind not to see it.

“Following the law costs too much money”

They are still illegals as they should have been told to remain in Mexico while their asylum claims were considered.

They aren’t illegals. They literally have legal status. They came from HAITI, not Mexico. (Do you think all non-white immigrants come from Mexico?)

But Trump called them “illegals” anyway and you are doubling down your defense of him.

Strait from the malignant narcissist scumbag piece of shit liar grifter rapist seditionist felon and tax cheat himself. Wait until the military kills a civilian. ****ing disgrace.
Using armed military personnel seems a bit fascist to me.

Salvador Allende would certainly approve.

It's NOT business like usually. We don't want to give these illegals the impression that they can just hang around and keep ignoring the laws of this great nation.
I would prefer to deploy the military on the border, and simply treat anyone trying to cross as an invasion. Tell the Mexican government to stop the people from crossing, or we will, and with force if necessary.

I believe you but, it’s one story of one jurisdiction.

It's an anecdote about a common practice. Noting officially that someone who has broken the law is here illegally brings additional work and paperwork - and sometimes fed attention (which local officials may or may not want). In sanctuary areas, this is lessened because they refuse to cooperate with ICE, etc.

Even inside the criminal justice system, data is incomplete. Few local jurisdictions are willing to release data on undocumented prisoners, and in the case of sanctuary cities and states, this is deliberately in order to avoid federal eyes and not differentiate between groups in reporting. Another result of that is that we get lots of illegals who do commit crimes, who then get to remain, regardless:

...A 2018 Government Accountability Office study found the problem particularly acute in sanctuary states. The average criminal illegal alien in California has six convictions, yet remains in the United States. According to a recent letter from ICE officials to Congress, there are 662,566 immigrants on an ICE non-detain docket—that is, they have been accused or convicted of a crime but aren’t being deported, including 435,719 convicted criminals and 226,847 with charges pending. This includes 62,231 convicted of assault (15,811 of sexual assault) and 14,301 convicted of burglary....

etc., so on, and so forth. Catch-And-Release does leave criminals on the street where they do victimize more people.

You may benefit from reading both sides, on this one.

You don’t think the people conducting these studies would factor that into their conclusion?

Nope. They already have the result that fits the presuppositions, and, you can't include data that doesn't exist. The data that exists for them to pull conclusions from leads to the conclusion they want to draw.

How would you extrapolate for "we know that these kinds of law-breaking events happen, but not how many"? The data isn't there to include, because it's never collected in the first place.

Again, it's like drawing up a list of all Democratic politicians who cheated on their wives, tossing in Trump's name at the bottom, and declaring that Democrats Are The Party Of Infidelity - my unwillingness or inability to include the full data going in means my result does not accurately reflect of reality.

In this case, I don't think we can say that - other than crimes associated with their status (which I do think should count) - illegal aliens are more or less likely to commit regular crimes, because the data is (deliberately) deeply incomplete.

Applying at the port of entry is legal, entering without that asylum is illegal. They are illegals.

I believe you are uninformed. These are the people who won the election for Trump...

Blah blah blah.

Donald does not care what you think. If he wants to call legal immigrants “illegals” because of the color of their skin and try to deport them, he’s going to do it and is not interested in your opinions on the matter. As far as he is concerned, your role is not to tell him what he can or cannot do; it is to sit back, praise him, be loyal to him and buy his sneakers. He expects you to stay in your lane and stop telling him what he will or will not do.

Applying at the port of entry is legal, entering without that asylum is illegal. They are illegals.

They entered through a legal point of entry. They have legal status.

Why are you lying? Is defending Trump’s racism more important than telling the truth?

undocumented obey laws at a higher clip than citizens
Most do, and can compliment this nation. However, they still came here illegally. The left was so intent of persecuting Trump for his crimes. Time to persecute those who violated our laws, else you can be a hypocrite.

The "immigrants are criminals" argument is kind of a joke.

By all means go after those committing crimes. Leave the rest alone.

Men commit far more violent crimes than women do. Should we deport all men?

Let's use some common sense.

Or laws are not equal. 🤷‍♂️

Why would legal immigrants from Haiti be told to wait in Mexico?!

You realize that Haiti and Mexico are two different countries don’t you?

(Well, being MAGA, perhaps you don’t.)

How many billions of dollars would it cost to legally review and process 2 million case?! The system is so screwed up and opportunists from all over the world is taking advantage of us. You got to be blind not to see it.
You dodged the question, and not very artfully. The purpose of the bipartisan border bill was to address many of the ways the system is screwed up. While not perfect by any means, killing it made things worse. Trump said blame him. I'm asking you why you don't.
