Trump to deploy National Guard in response to Los Angeles immigration protests

The plan is to escalate, to provoke, to be as confrontational as possible, to excuse the coming violence. Trump and his minions are already dividing law enforcement between loyalists and law abiders. They'll attempt the same with the military. This order was based on what Trump literally claims is "rebellion". Any resistance to unlawful ICE activity is now deemed "rebellion", including protest. This is full-blown fascism - not "semi-authoritarianism".

In addition, violent protests threaten the security of and significant damage to Federal immigration detention facilities and other Federal property. To the extent that protests or acts of violence directly inhibit the execution of the laws, they constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States.

In light of these incidents and credible threats of continued violence, by the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, I hereby call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard under 10 U.S.C. 12406 to temporarily protect ICE and other United States Government personnel who are performing Federal functions, including the enforcement of Federal law, and to protect Federal property, at locations where protests against these functions are occurring or are likely to occur based on current threat assessments and planned operations."

Those unwilling to recognize history are willing to reenact it.

Even if she had, based on Trump's action s yesterday, it clearly didn't relieve Trump of his responsibility.

This administration is purposefully inciting and enticing reactions.

It's very clear. They want the show. They want the sound bites on Fox . They want to make even small numbers a big deal that make Trump look tough. It's just part of the staging for the reality TV show called the Trump Administration.

Meanwhile, tanks are being hauled into DC by the trainload for next week's military parade. We have states still recovering from natural disasters that can't get much in the way of FEMA assistance, but these are the priorities. America is not a serious country in 2025.
