Which is why it was not a literal suggestion.

Benedict Arnold and the war of 1812 settled all of this. What is now Canada should have been part of our great nation. Now they just bask in the shadow of the greatest military and economic power on earth.

I'm sure most world leaders have figured out Trump at this point, even if his homeland supporters haven't.

They'll snicker behind his back, but give him respect face-to-face and humor him enough to get what they want.

This is true for both our allies and adversaries.
