Trump sends scorching letter to Pelosi ahead of House impeachment vote

You mean the completely fabricated dossier that was made up out of thin air by Democrats?

Of course the dossier was fabricated. It exists doesn't it? Technically true, but in reality a bull**** talking point, especially when dismissing the stuff that actually has proven to be true. You know like Trump's business dealing in Russia and when they ended.

But I get how trumpian defenses rely on short memories and disingenuous sound bites.

Seriously, are you 10 years old? This sounds like my whiny kids when they were 10 years old.

You're beat, little one.

I am not surprised that "victory" by derisive dismissal is your kneejerk response. The stuff of small minds seems most popular in Trumpland.

Look at his post content, and consider HE is asking YOU who is 10 years old....frickin comedy gold!

A Close Textual Reading of Trump’s Letter to Nancy Pelosi

One of the keys to understanding Trump is that his entire life is a case of projection. If he’s accusing somebody of something, it’s because he’s guilty-as-sin of doing it himself.

So what does Trump do in his letter?

He accuses House members of violating their oaths of office regarding impeachment. This isn’t true—Lordy, it’s not remotely true. About the House, that is. It’s absolutely true about Trump, who swore to defend the Constitution from enemies both foreign and domestic and wound up recruiting foreign enemies to attack his domestic rivals for him.

And it’s also true about Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham, who have literally said that they’re going to disregard the oath they’ll have to take at the start of an impeachment trial.

Trump's letter, assuming it can be authenticated (which shouldn't be difficult, given its grade-school language) is evidence that the 25th Amendment needs to be invoked. It constantly astounds me that someone of such inferior qualities resides at 1900 Pennsylvania Avenue, and that he has the support of such a large swath of American voters (thankfully, never close to a majority). I have had some experience, professionally, with legitimately mentally-challenged individuals who adhere to some pretty whacko conspiracy-based departures from reality. Occasionally, such fantasy-based worldviews result in violence. Having one at the top of the political food chain is something I did not think could happen.

It was not until I began posting here at DP that I realized how pernicious and pervasive such defects can be. I'll be honest, it scares me and I have come to appreciate the historical basis for mass hysterical events such as the rise of fascism and the internment of Japanese Americans, the red scare, etc. I see now how it is possible for large segments of the population to just turn off their brains and moral radars and participate in such atrocities. From a psychological standpoint, it is fascinating; from a social standpoint, it is terrifying. To see it in writing in such blunt terms is just mind-boggling. And to have any rational, thinking, ostensibly moral humans fail to appreciate just exactly what it is, demoralizing.

It raises the age-old question: What has our country come to?

They're panicky tantrums, just like these hearings.

We run this country. We make ALL the important decisions, and pay the wages. Regardless of who is in office, what the economy is doing, what mood you're in.....we win. Always have, and always will.

Unlike you, we don't live vicariously through anyone but ourselves. We don't find all of our achievement and happiness through shadenfreude.

We can actually not like Trump's mannerisms, but understand its purpose and appreciate it's stupendous results. Nobody with their mind puts any value in this sham of an "impeachment" hearing. That word now means nothing at all.

Liberals, however, need an American Idol contestant to carry their hopes and dreams, and keep them from having to look into that ugly mirror on the wall.

No matter what, we've won.

What's disturbing is that you can adopt a litany of hearsay and falsehoods in this impeachment sham as fact, and then you dismiss the truly scary facts in the IG report entirely.

You are not well.

Who the hell knows what lies down the road for America as we speed towards the most important election in U.S. history, IMO. But, at least this sorry sunuvabitch can't change the fact his reign will forever be stained with that 'Impeachment' black mark. Today is a good day for what is fair and just in D.C.

Did not take you long to hunt and locate a reason to discipline you. I was amazed you held off as long.

What are you talking about?

So you think Obama accounted for why he failed to stop the Russians when he was flat out told about them?

Well on reason was that McConnell REFUSED to sign a joint statement wrt to Russian interference at the beginning of Sept. Since Trump was running around screaming about a fixed election (you might recall it was a popular rant of his), Obama and the Dems made a political calculation that they couldn't do it alone, because it was too divisive.

So he did a few other things. He imposed a whole host of additional sanctions, he seized Russian property, he expelled dozens of russians, and other things.

Course at the time, the full extent of the Russian campaign was yet to be revealed.

You can't possibly be that unaware.

I know, right? The Democrats should instead go for a lifelong liberal lying corrupt incompetent reality TV game show host who changes political parties more than he even changes wives and porn star mistresses to carry their hopes and dreams.

The emoticon should be of an ostrich with his head buried in the sand, afraid of seeing the truth if he pulls it out.

You need to do unintentional stand-up. You'll get a ton of intentional laughs.

And that's a win?

No just moving in the right direction.

Seems Hillary didn't quite grasp how the Electoral College worked but was instead going for the majority in California and New York. Did well there but was reminded after the election on how the EC works. Maybe the nex Dem will have a better strategy and try to appeal to the entire country.

Totally agree. Fact remains that there were 2 million more Americans who voted for Clinton.

So the Russians were against both candidates and, in retaliation, the Democrats decided to impeach the President. That should teach the Russians a lesson
They didn't have as close an association with Vlad as Barack did.

Oh please. OF COURSE the Russians were against AMERICA. The fact that they figgered Trump was a way better alternative for them than Clinton is well documented. Funny, you acknowledge Russians as the enemy, claim they went after both candidates but that this whole Russian thing is a hoax and nothing more than democractic butt hurt.

And Vlad never had private one on one meetings with OBama with no notes or confiscated notes. Russians never did business with Obama. Russians never dangled big business opportunities in front of Obama.

And Obama never humiliated himself in front of Vlad and the world the way Trump has done on at least two occasions.

You might recall your Dear Leader kissing Vladdie's arse for all the world to see.

““My people came to me, [Director of National Intelligence] Dan Coats came to me and some others saying they think it's Russia. I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia. I will say this, I don’t see any reason why it would be.”

The democrats are such hypocrites.
The same idiots involved in the Clinton impeachment are saying the complete opposite now.

Just because the Depends crowd mindlessly backs Trump doesn't mean it is a good idea. They need to accept that changing demographics ensure the KKK will never rise again no matter how much they pray.

wow. having to have his acolytes try to explain his inarticulate bat**** crazy 6 page whiny little bitch over the top bull**** "defense".

Only trumpians and trolls can think a constitutionally mandated power specifically outlined in the constitution is unconstitutional.
Only trumpians and trolls can think that house investigation rules that THEY created are a denial of due process when they are being investigated.

Only trumpians and trolls think inarticulate ramblings are just "talkin' like a regular guy" and aren't a sign of functional deficiency like in every other corporate/institutional job on the planet.

Only trumpians and trolls can think that projection and whataboutery are acceptable justifications for trump's blundering.

Only trumpians and trolls can think that Trump's constant punching down is the mark of a tough guy.

speaking paradoxically of course.

Let me know when you find in the constitution where a president can be impeached for no crime, where it says hearsay can be used as fact, where you find "abuse of power" there, where you find that exercising his constitutional rights is abuse of Congress and finally let me know where 3 Trump hating radical left Resistance lawyers get the final say on what abuse of power is.

I will wait right here for your usual non response because you have none that refutes common sense.

At this point you folks are screwed anyway because Republicans are bigly mad and you guys are toast in 2020.

All I can do is give my humble thanks

Takes a big man to be appreciative and proud of his intellectual deficiencies now matter how "unique" they may appear to be. Your welcome tho.

Many of them are suspicious of books. Maybe Johnny can't read but he has a lot of self esteem.

You and RobertinFremont need to get a room. All you're doing now is cutting down anyone that doesn't agree with you. Why are you even here?

Yea, the democrats history is one of supporting racism and slavery to supporting rich elites liberals.

You need to do unintentional stand-up. You'll get a ton of intentional laughs.

Just doing my small part to impart some humor into these boards. I find progressive/leftist/socialists lack any sense of humor whatsoever and are all pent up with fretting, anger and hyperbole. I wonder how a party would go that just had those groups in it? There wouldn't be a smile in the bunch. They would be plotting who they were going to overthrow next in order to create their totalitarian paradise.

What do you think the 17 witnesses were testifying about? They all agreed that Trump was extorting Ukraine for a political favor for his benefit. Trump's sudden impulse to root out "corruption" came with in weeks of Biden announcing his intentions. Why can't you see that simple fact?

Why can't you read what I wrote?

Wait, was Obama born of a union where a young impressionable girl was impregnated by a stud from Kenya? Why deny his own father?

As we get told daily, Obama was not who Trump ran against. He ran against the corrupt Hillary Clinton.

The attacks made against Trump were never made vs Obama. Even though the main disputed issue with Obama was his own father, he did not catch the holy hell Trump catches. Trump caught it from the moment he was sworn into office. The press had a hissy fit he was in the oval office.

Wow you really have it out for Obama and although you try to hide it, black folks. I see why you hate Obama so much and edify Trump.

Strange they picked him to be the traitor who continued the DNC bought and paid for dossier and palmed it off as being the truth. They knew he would try to destroy Trump and used him like the traitor he was to lend credence to the dossier. Progressives love the traitor to his party and the country. He was the one who promised us he would do things and had no intention of ever doing. He was a leftist. He promised that a wall would be built and when he and his cohorts could have done it, they didn't and ignored the will of the people. I remember vividly when a constituency kept pressing him on building a wall he got super angry at him and said "You want a wall? I'll build a GD wall!" Of course he had no intention of doing that then or before in spite of him being a career politician who had influence.

The above is a perfect example of a traitorous politician who promised people things that he had no desire of doing but only said he would fir years and even decades and didn't spend one moment ever attempting. He was your typical two faced politician who gives lip service to we the people. Trump isn't a politician and has kept several major promises and the wall is now being built in spite of the obstructionists in both parties.

You calling McCain a traitor to his country is about the lowest most ignorant thing you have said so far.

But then again I've noticed how too many trumpians have NO CLUE what leadership and sacrifice are all about, not to mention honor and dignity and integrity.

Well at least you're part of herd. Mavericks in trumpland get butchered.

She will fail on this try to impeach and convict. I am dead sure of that.

You're already half wrong. Today he will be impeached by congress. It's only because the republicans have no principals that he will survive conviction in the senate.

Seems to me you address vile scum in the manner in which they have earned the title.

This is what happens when one skips second grade. Fake elementary school diplomas are ravaging this country.
