Trump says he want's $2,000 checks not $600

And we need more than a piddling $600.
Scary! I agree with Mycroft, maybe for the first time. Pelosi turned down 1.8 trillion shortly before the election, probably due to polls showing dems taking the
senate in which case she could get much more. Since things didn't go as planned she now has to accept what McConnell offered. Trump is going to gripe a bit, even
though he was missing in action during the negotiations, but he will sign the bill.

While I agree with trump that they should have made the direct payments at least as much as the first time, and that there is pork in the Bill that has no business being there, I would say they need to go with what they came up with. I have to say it is too late at this point to be making a bunch of changes that would delay or kill the Bill entirely, if the WH wanted this they should have been pushing Congress down that path a long way back. I would add that I also agree with Biden that this is nothing more than a sown payment, and that another Bill (the last one) needs to be worked out to ensure Americans and American Businesses can survive until more businesses can get back to being fully operational depending on the vaccine.

McConnell Won’t Support $1.8 Trillion White House Stimulus Bill—Even If Pelosi And Trump Make A Deal

What I think is funny is this: Nancy made House members vote on a bill they didn't have time to read and she forbid any amendments to the bill. But now...now that TRUMP brings up a change...Nancy and Chuck are all for amending the bill they pushed and forced through.

Thank you, President Trump, for looking out for Main Street Americans.

(If Chuck and Nancy actually cared about the American people, Trump wouldn't have had to shame them into doing what they should have done in the first place.)

btw, Trump ALSO gave a big **** YOU to McConnell for supporting Biden for President. Now, McConnell will have to go along with $2000 for Main Street, too.
Blaming Dems for what it is the Republicans have done. How sad and pathetic.

My prediction from earlier in this thread is already coming true.

My prediction, the GOP will balk, refuse Trump's $2,000 checks, and still blame the Dems for it.

Well, to be fair, you are pretty new here. I've been expressing my opinion here for nine years. It's likely there's a LOT more from me that you would agree with.

I don't agree with this.

I think you are missing the fact that Pelosi had no intention of passing any relief bill before the election. It was all about preventing Trump from winning. Hell, she said as much herself...after the election.

And I don't think there is as much disagreement between Nancy and Mitch as you think there is. Mitch didn't put up much of a fight this time around. We are seeing his true colors because he doesn't think Trump will be staying in the WH.

I don't blame the Dems. I blame the Dems AND the Reps.

Then of course he rants a bunch of lies about how Dems blocked Covid relief all summer.

Pelosi just called this Republican bluff...

Nancy Pelosi Finally Admits It Was Her 'Decision' to Block COVID Relief for Americans

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) admitted during a press conference on Friday it was Democrats' decision to withhold crucially needed aid for Americans suffering from the effects of the COVID-19 lockdowns.

When asked by CNN reporter Manu Raju if it was a "mistake" to wait months for a concerted effort to pass a clean COVID relief bill, Pelosi got defensive.
"I’m going to tell you something — don’t characterize what we did before as a mistake, as a preface to your question if you want an answer. That was not a mistake, it was a decision, and it’s taken us to a place where we can do the right thing without other, shall we say, considerations in the legislation that we don’t want. Now, that is it. Now the fact is, I'm very proud of where we are," Pelosi said.

She went on to say the reason why she wants to pass a bill now is because Joe Biden has been declared the winner of the presidential election and a number of vaccines are being produced.

townhall :ROFLMAO:

She wouldn't let pass a "covid relief" bill that had no checks in it. Which is what McConnell wanted. But you knew that right?

The shit show in Congress continues... unsurprisingly.

Pelosi and the Democrats would 100% support the current deal if the $600 checks become $2000. She already said so on Twitter tonight.

Let's see if Trump has any balls.
Of course she said that. It makes her look good. But wait and see what happens if making that $2000 a reality means reductions in other parts of the bill. She'll call a screeching halt to the whole thing.

(and that's when the shit hits the fan)

Trump has been so busy trying to overturn the election and pardon cronies and criminals that I'm surprised he even knew what happened in the legislative branch.

Because he knew Pelosi would just oppose it...for political reasons.

Pelosi and the establishment dems don't oppose more money going to the American people. You are pushing a false narrative.

I don't blame the Dems. I blame the Dems AND the Reps.

Ahhh, the old they both do it shtick. The fact of the matter is, the House did pass legislation and the Senate not only refused to debate it, but refused to create something for which they could counter. That's how bipartisanship works... each side submits their proposal and then they compromise to strike a deal. The problem is you can't negotiate with the GOP terrorists.

A new PPP facility would have to be brought to zero. The price tag on the $300 unemployment supplemental is something less than $85 billion. You're making things up hoping people reading this are as uninformed as you.

That's one way of doing it, but not the only way. After all, there is $900 BILLION to play with.

We'll see where their priorities lie.

How surreal.

The greatest "disgrace: our country has ever know is calling the 6 month in coming Covid relief bill a disgrace one day after saying he would sign it and offering no input.

All he really wants is to scorch the earth. He is pissed at the American people and this demand that he knows will never be passed is camouflage.

I think it pretty clear, if you support Trump you are marching with Lucifer and will be dealt with at Armageddon.

He is doing the scorched earth approach for sure, but that Covid relief bill is a joke. 600 to working class Americans who are suffering and lots of pork for everyone else.

Welcome to the new politic. If the Democrats can do their chicanery, the Trump Team will pay it back.

Congress passed a omnibus Bill which had 3 main parts. The CV relief spending, 7 day continuing resolution, and funding for the different federal agencies for the rest of 2021.

imo, because the Bill contains the CV stimulus and the 20221 federal appropriation it confused President Trump. In his video he complains of the $600 stimulus while Congress approved aid for other countries.

What Congress and the President has not addressed is the impact to our National debt for the CV stimulus bill. Taxpayers are going to be paying for it for decades. Doesn't matter if it is $600 or $2000 per person.

Trump is right about the so called stimulus bill. Pelosi has filled it with left wing pork.

Here are just a few of the high points of taxpayer abuse within the bill:
  • $10 million for "gender programs" in Pakistan.
  • $40 million for the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts — AGAIN!
  • $10 billion to loan forgiveness to the Post Office.
  • $14 billion for mass transit programs, $10 billion for state highways, and $1 billion for Amtrak.
  • $15 billion for live entertainment venues, cultural institutions, and independent movie theaters.
  • $82 billion to K-12 schools and another $23 billion to colleges and universities.*
  • Two new Smithsonian museums on the National Mall — a Museum of Women's History and Museum of the American Latino.
Are you okay with your hard-earned tax dollars being spent like this?

The money is for US Citizens who have suffered due to Covid, not domestic and international pork.

*This could go to pay down student debt instead.

LOL!!

"surreal" "scorch the earth" "Lucifer" "Armageddon"

So much hyperbole.

No, this is really very simple.
