Yet another example of the absolute incompetence of this Administration.

They should have stuck with follow due process and conducting the removal of actual CRIMINALS.

Not the heavy handed bullshit tactics they’ve been utilizing.

Had they done that - there would be no protesting, there would be very minimal complaints, etc.

These bullshit raids - including taking children out of foster care and “apprehending” individuals attending their immigration hearings, smashing windows of cars and grabbing people from them, chasing migrant workers through fields, etc - have been ridiculous.

This Administration is a shit show.

Stick to the plan (campaing promise?) of “mass deportation” of all illegal aliens, which is all the executive (alone) can (presently) do.

IMHO, congress should pass an eVerify mandate, coupled with changes to the FIT code, allowing the IRS to act as the primary enforcement mechanism. Once the (W-2 and 1099) US employment ‘magnet’ is removed then many (if not most) ‘undocumented’ immigrants will elect to self-deport.

Well . . . not so fast, buckaroo! According to WaPo, sources inside the WH are saying "Policy change? What policy change?" Nobody but Trump knows anything about any policy change.

Trump has this annoying habit of saying whatever will temporarily appease the person with a problem that he caused.

The major downside to that idea (concept of a plan?), is that “actual CRIMINALS” typically become so only after they have been convicted of creating actual VICTIMS. How many more actual VICTIMS of illegal aliens are acceptable to you?

dont deport people who haven't committed crimes yet, just like we dont imprison citizens who haven't committed crimes yet.

we need the undocumented people here, in general, to fill the jobs. the benefit to society is higher than deporting them all "just in case" some commit crimes later.

Nuance is why the administration is sparking rioting at a home depot in LA and sending in marines but going easy on hospitality staff and farmers?

You should stop and try listening to yourself talk sometimes.

Sounds like a bit of prejudice to me.



I’m not inclined to believe that someone is more likely to engage in any sort of violent criminal activity due to where they happened to be born or what the status of their legal paperwork is.

But . You do you.



(Statistically, the largest perpetrators of crime in the US are white men…by the way. By a large margin. Immigrants - some of the lowest statistical probability of such)

Yep, what exactly makes illegal alien agricultural workers any more ‘essential’ than illegal alien construction, automotive repair or hospitality workers?
 

Statistics don’t matter to crime victims who would then be considered (necessary?) ‘collateral damage’ in order to ‘justify’ the deportation of illegal aliens. The idea of selectively enforcing US immigration law (via prosecutorial discretion?) for specific occupations (industries or locations?) is ridiculous.

not so much "above the law" but the idea of literally deporting every single illegal is a stupid one, both from a doability viewpoint and also the effect on the economy.
selective enforcement is not only the only option, but a preferred one.

I'm sure he did.

The problem is that all those criminals are already in jail, or deported, or hard to find.

Trump and the MAGAPies may be high on their own supply, but others like Stephen Miller know this. That's one reason why he screamed at ICE to round up non-violent migrants at Home Depot parking lots.
 
MAGA really doesn’t have anything to say. It’s hilarious they’ve gagged themselves because they disagree and he’ll say the opposite in a couple hours to win them back anyway.

since I brought it up.
The fact Americans will do those other jobs, although hospitality relies more on immigrants
And while field work is increasingly mechanized there are still needs for workers, and Americans won't work the fields
