I'm open to your opinion of what should be done. That’s amnesty with a pathway to citizenship - aka a reward for those who entered illegally or overstayed a ‘temporary’ visa. That’s more than Obama/Biden offered to ‘Dreamers’.
I'm open to your opinion of what should be done.
Well . . . not so fast, buckaroo! According to WaPo, sources inside the WH are saying "Policy change? What policy change?" Nobody but Trump knows anything about any policy change.Nuanced policy due to supply of critical labor, (farm workers are critical, if underpaid) I especially like seeing Trump amend his previous policy to protect farm workers
Yet another example of the absolute incompetence of this Administration.
They should have stuck with follow due process and conducting the removal of actual CRIMINALS.
Not the heavy handed bullshit tactics they’ve been utilizing.
Had they done that - there would be no protesting, there would be very minimal complaints, etc.
These bullshit raids - including taking children out of foster care and “apprehending” individuals attending their immigration hearings, smashing windows of cars and grabbing people from them, chasing migrant workers through fields, etc - have been ridiculous.
This Administration is a shit show.
The major downside to that idea, is that “actual CRIMINALS” typically become so only after they have been convicted of creating actual VICTIMS. How many more actual VICTIMS of illegal aliens are acceptable to you?
Because farmers far and away are MAGA. Trump dare not disillusion them. He needs to appease them, lest they begin to scratch their heads. But the bottom line question is why should farm labor be viewed as different than factory labor?
Nuance is why the administration is sparking rioting at a home depot in LA and sending in marines but going easy on hospitality staff and farmers?Nuanced policy due to supply of critical labor, (farm workers are critical, if underpaid) I especially like seeing Trump amend his
previous policy to protect farm workers
Sounds like a bit of prejudice to me.The major downside to that idea (concept of a plan?), is that “actual CRIMINALS” typically become so only after they have been convicted of creating actual VICTIMS. How many more actual VICTIMS of illegal aliens are acceptable to you

You should stop and try listening to yourself talk sometimes.
Sounds like a bit of prejudice to me.
I’m not inclined to believe that someone is more likely to engage in any sort of violent criminal activity due to where they happened to be born or what the status of their legal paperwork is.
But. You do you.
(Statistically, the largest perpetrators of crime in the US are white men…by the way. By a large margin. Immigrants - some of the lowest statistical probability of such)
We selectively enforce every law in the USStatistics don’t matter to crime victims who would then be considered (necessary?) ‘collateral damage’ in order to ‘justify’ the deportation of illegal aliens. The idea of selectively enforcing US immigration law (via prosecutorial discretion?) for specific occupations (industries or locations?) is ridiculous.
Liberal: It seems stupid to round up every single dark skin person you see without any questions or due process at all. I thought he said they would be going after the criminals?Nuanced policy due to supply of critical labor, (farm workers are critical, if underpaid) I especially like seeing Trump amend his

We selectively enforce every law in the US
Especially misdemeanors
All day, every day - coast to coast
No, I think we should change the f*cking laws.Everyone is aware of what we now do, but you seem to think that some folks are (and should remain?) above the law.
not so much "above the law" but the idea of literally deporting every single illegal is a stupid one, both from a doability viewpoint and also the effect on the economy.Everyone is aware of what we now do, but you seem to think that some folks are (and should remain?) above the law.
I'm sure he did.Just imagine if Trump had instructed ICE to do what he told the public they were going to do i.e. go after the rapists, murderers and violent criminals.
So when do we start draconian enforcement of speed limits?Everyone is aware of what we now do, but you seem to think that some folks are (and should remain?) above the law.
Yep, what exactly makes illegal alien agricultural workers any more ‘essential’ than illegal alien construction, automotive repair or hospitality workers?
Mine is $$$. Everything is for sale.Political pull seems the only answer I can come up with.
since I brought it up.Yep, what exactly makes illegal alien agricultural workers any more ‘essential’ than illegal alien construction, automotive repair or hospitality workers?
