Trump resists calls to disclose his tax returns

I would love to see Donald J Trump outright at the tax returns aren't any of our business. Then tell the left to piss off.

Donations? To not release them and it will haunt him, along with many other things.

Sorry but political donations are not a tax deduction.

Nor our the speaking fees the Clintons receive, but the right does go on and on about them. Fair is fair

The Clintons tax returns are out there, were is the Dons?

If it smells fishy, it's because it is a fish. I would rather see them now, instead of after the election as the Don has suggested. It's the old conflict of interest thing, the Don has his finger in allot of pies, lets just see them pies.

The clinton returns can be seen? I hadn't seen them. Do you have a link?

Why do you say that?

When somebody official is looking at your returns, you don't give millions of people access to play gotcha.

Then there is the matter in a large companie's case that the return is dozens if not hundreds of pages long, and in addition, there are multiple corporations, each with their own return.

It would be a never ending process which contributes nothing.

Wait. So your reasons are:

1) they are being audited (which was my question to begin with) and
2) they are really long.

Neither which answers the question "Why cant he release the returns while they are being audited?"

I think we both know the real reason..... the returns have bad stuff in them that will hurt him - no charitable donations to the organisations he brags donating millions to, clear evidence that his worth is not even close to what he brags about and his income is fairly low, an astonishingly low tax rate, and who knows what else?

It's voluntary so I don't blame him for saying no.

It's still a very stupid move politically. (No real surprise from Trump, of course.)

Supposing, just for argument's sake, that there truly is "nothing to be learned" from those returns, as he claims, there would be even more incentive for him to do it. Not only does he look transparent and willing to respect tradition, he makes a large number of enemies waste their time looking through it all and finding nothing they can use.

Or he says no and people eat up his further saying "**** you" to the establishment.

If he is being audited over a couple years, it means that the IRS is LOOKING hard at the Don

But then again, he says they will not be released until Nov!!

Something to hide?

The Right would be throwing themselves on the floor convulsing if this were Mrs Clinton

Something to hide? Why yes!

The tax returns of real estate developers are exceptionally complicated. You be assured they will show he makes almost no money. I also have a hunch they will expose a lot of his braggartly exaggerations, like how much NBC paid him to do the Apprentice. From his vantage point, no good can come from that.

His loyal sheep would do that regardless. Those on the fence will start thinking he might have something to hide. (Okay, at least the ones who actually think.)

Doubt it. Oh and peeps in his income bracket are constantly audited.

Right, but most people who are whining about this are unemployed and have no idea what it's like to earn an income at all so naturally they couldn't comprehend Trump's complicated revenue stream. Or they're blind partisans. Either way they're dishonest or ignorant.

That is actually why I believe he is not releasing them. Jeesh I have never heard anyone go on about how much they are worth in my life!! I guess I was raised old fashion, taught that discussing your income outside of family is bad etiquette, times have changed.

I'm inclined to think he does have a thing or two on those returns that he'd rather not see public. But only because the alternate possibility doesn't make a lot of sense.

Brilliant Idea, go with that tactic.

The DNC thanks you in advance.

Funny since the FBI investigated it Twice and came up with Nothing and the Star investigation wasted 3 Million Tax Payer Dollars to find the same thing, Nothing. Nice try but you still have Nothing other than your opinion.

Actually, no they didn't. She had sandboxed it so her hubby, the target of the investigation, wouldn't be involved. She got a pass, every other partner in her firm got jail - and they were her trades that started the whole mess.

Besides, this whole Hillary discussion is a dodge. You were wrong, have been throughout the primaries. It just pisses you off that folks are voting for and supporting the fellow you were most wrong about. Now you will say anything, take any position to prove them all wrong.

I'm sure he can release them if he so chose. The privacy issue with the IRS, you, and tax returns is one sided. The question is what is there to gain?

We don't know the reason. If there is bad stuff, the Democrat led IRS investigators who have the tools and expertise will find it.

The rest of your post is opinion attempting to masquerade as fact.

Seems like Trump had no issue releasing them for a business deal, I guess the voters do not have a need to know. Is this how he will run the country?
As he has no experience in public service (remember Obama taking hits in 2008 for that one, the old double standard), I can only assume he will.

I think calls to show tax records of a candidates are stupid, personally... there's no need to release them and they serve no public utility when released.

I agree with you, except if said person (Bernie) has built a platform off of class warfare and people paying their fare share. So when Bernie released his info we all got to see he was a hypocrite.

Why the hell would anyone care what's in her or any other candidate's tax return? See if they gave a politically correct amount to charity?

Some people may be interested in charitable donations, that's a legit reason. Others may be interested in finding out if Trump even has any income, that goes to character, after he's been bragging about how rich he is. Also, if a rich man can't seem to find investments that will make him a decent return, then why would we want to elect him president (competency issue).

Heck, no tellings what important facts we may discover - like maybe Trump isn't even a US citizen.

exactly... there's no real useful information to be gleaned from tax returns..... this modern tradition of releasing them is dumb.

If Hillary was getting a 1099 for ten million dollars from XYZ company, wouldn't you want to know that, and wouldn't you want here to disclose that? It's all part of the vetting system.

Has anyone seen his birth certificate? Not that it should be an issue.

There is no doubt in my mind that someone is going to start to demand it. I heard that he was actually born in Mexico, the son of a nice Chinese couple. At least those Chinese know how to build a wall.

Shame they couldn't do something with his hair. To show non partisan, Hillary takes fashion advice from Angela Merkel, it's like they share the same closet. Poor Hillary, she really needs fashion makeover. It's unfair cause the male candidates do not have that issue, but c'mon Hillary, you have the cash, spend some on a fashion consultant!!
