we don't need to be getting into any wars at the moment...he needs to stand down unless there is an openly aggressive action...

Shoot down a ship, how exactly is that done? Good Grief the guy has the vocabulary of a 12 year old.
That pointed out, if any Nation threatens our Navy they should expect to be sunk.

We could "shoot down" any number of Iranian ships and the Iranian regime does not go to war. They're busy with something more important.

There's no mess...unless, of course, the Iranians decide to ignore Trump's warning.

Since Trump has access to intelligence information that the news media doesn't have access to, I think it's likely that Iran is already considering escalating military tensions in the Gulf region. If that's true, then it would be Trump that is trying to DE-ESCALATE tensions.

True to form...instead of considering the situation in a logical and reasoned manner, the Trump hating media won't hesitate to spin the news into things being Trump's fault.

No amount of military activity we could do, could harm Iran, as much as the current drop in oil prices!
There was a story about how the Czar of Russia, ordered his top general to attack Napoleon's grand army
as they retreated from Moscow. The General is said to have told his aid that he will let General winter fight the next battle!

No there is a mess and for your info they have been doing this to our ships since before Obama took office and we have kept it under control till now
doing something like this will just provoke more attacks like it has before
well again the economist say there is only two ways to get out of a recession / Depression and that is spend your way out or have a war like WWII
so maybe Trump is going to try both at the same time in order to save our economy
who knows what he is thinking

Ahhh. The actual story. You know...the one ignored by the Trump hating media.

The encounter happened last week. Six U.S. Navy warships were conducting drills with US Army Apache attack helicopters in international waters off Iran last Wednesday when they were repeatedly harassed by 11 Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Navy vessels, the U.S. Navy’s 5th Fleet reported.

The Iranian ships repeatedly crossed in front and behind the U.S. vessels at extremely close range and high speeds, including multiple crossings of one ship, the Puller, with a 50-yard closest point of approach and within 10 yards of another ship, the Maui’s, bow, a 5th Fleet statement said.

The Navy also reported that the USS Paul Hamilton, USS Firebolt, USS Sirocco and USCGC Wrangell, as well as the Puller and Maui, were involved in the exercises.

The U.S. crews responded by issuing multiple warnings via radio—including five short blasts from the ships’ horns and long-grange acoustic noise maker devices, but received no response from the IRGCN, the Navy’s 5th Fleet said in a statement.

After approximately an hour, the Iranian vessels responded to the radio queries, before maneuvering away from the U.S. ships and increasing the distance between them, according to the Navy.

The Navy said that the Iranian’s dangerous and provocative actions “increased the risk of miscalculation and collision” and were in violation of international maritime “rules of the road.” The Navy also said they were not in accordance with international law to act safely with other vessels in the area.

So...it IS Iran that is escalating military tensions in the Gulf. Not Trump.

Well, we'll see if Iran heeds the warning or if they continue their provocative actions and get some of their boats sunk.
 
When Iranian gunboats are playing "I'm not touching you" games with our ships that are conducting exercises in international waters they are creating a situation where something could go VERY wrong in very short order.
