Trump Launches War On Iran

It might not appear that way to someone who doesn’t know anything about the science or what Iran has been up to with North Korea.

So, you're saying that Iran has not been able to create a nuclear bomb in 33 years (since Netanyahu has been claiming Iran was on the brink)?

Are you saying they are complete morons?

Iranian state radio said that the IRGC has fired a salvo of missiles at a US military base in Qatar.

No word yet from the Pentagon. I hope they have a Patriot system protecting their air space (and Navy assets also monitoring the skies).

It seems the Iranians refuse to be bullied by Trump.
They also tried to hit Doha, but ran into our air defense.

This isn't going Iran's way.

That would be a major mistake.
The US achieved their objectives, Iran launched a relatively modest retaliation that didn't do any damage.

Now would be the time for the US to step back and let Israel carry on blowing shit up.

But Trump has already threatened to escalate if Iran retaliated so he's kind of trapped himself.

Trump doesn't care about our military in overseas bases, he doesn't care about civilians living in Iran. I believe he would put our military in harm's way intentionally so he can thrust the U.S. directly into war with Iran. People are only numbers on a piece of paper to him.

I'm not sure what's "long game" about going after Qatar. They may not have hit anything, but Trump was already chomping at the bit to escalate this thing even further and this gives him ammo for it.

Firstly, Iran let Qatar know they were only attacking U.S. targets within their country.

As to the "long game", Iran did a very calculated and proportional attack. It was a statement, less than an attack. It's clear to me Iran wants the U.S. to stay out of their war with Israel, and are trying to effect that goal. I'm sure Trump is being informed Iran held back in their response.

I wouldn't want to be in Trump's shoes. The right thing to do of course is TACO, and re-open negotiations. But can he take such an ego hit? Like he earlier did in his first term? Again, slapped by Khamenei?

We still have to worry about the Strait of Hormuz.

Obviously, the time to plan for that was BEFORE this, but...You know.

Russia invaded Ukraine. I’m fine with helping Ukraine defend themselves.

I was fine with helping Israel defend themselves.

WE have now become an aggressor.

I’m not convinced there was a legitimate reason for it. Nor am I convinced we actually accomplished much of anything.

Other than pissing off Iran.

I believe Iran can not have access to nuclear weapons and also believe they were close enough to access to them to be of concern. So I am not against using this excuse Israel presents as a reason to knock out their capability.

I think we may have put a serious dent in it.

The question becomes do we extricate ourselves with the objective met or is Trump actually looking to use a war to bolster a weakening position in the Oval?

It is fake news. The sad part is that it was created by a right-wing loon who believed what he read.

No, the Deep State trying to make policy and run the country behind the scenes is real.
What's fake is your narrative that it's some paranoid delusion.

Not true.

You're only contradicting yourself when you then argue in defense of Deep State.

No, it's not. We are not discussing Biden.
We can't exclusively judge Trump in isolation, without comparing with Biden's track record.
What's Sauce for the Goose is Sauce for the Gander

Did you forget that your side supports Isreal?

No, that's just the Uniparty section who exist on both sides of the aisle. You clearly belong to that category, since you're loyal to Israel above all else.

They would not.

Only because your Israeli-ness makes you practice double standards.
If civilians voted for Hamas, then you feel they deserve to die.
If civilians voted for Netanyahu, then you feel they're all peachy.
Your side is allowed to do anything, and it shouldn't be called terrorism according to you.
But the other side should all be condemned as terrorists and bombed to death en masse.

That isn't what I said.

I dislike bloodshed on both sides.

The fight needs to end.

Trump hasn't ended the fight, he's only expanded it, and pulled in the US more directly.

There's a saying, 'If you're not seated at the table, you're probably on the menu'. The U.S. needs to get some men that know what political negotiating actually means before anyone meets with Iran and other nations in talks.

At some point, something will have to be done about that.
Given the enthusiastic US support for the utterly vicious Salvadorian juntas of years past, it doesn’t seem likely anything will.

The Democrats don’t have the spine to be seen as “mean” to Republicans. Obama didn’t even close down Guantanamo after all the torture reports came out.

Iran is in essence calling Trump back to the table.

If Trump has the best interests of the American People, he will accept.

There is no table. Trump, the Great Negotiator, has offered Iran unconditional surrender or bombs. That's the table.

And what's the point of peace for Iran? Israel will continue to bomb them. Israel doesn't want peace when it's in a position to destroy Iran the way it has Gaza.

A few years later, when we experience another 9/11, people will wonder why they hate us.

Suckers also think the last man at the table wins.

Always be the first to eat.
