Trump-Kim summit: Trump says U.S. will end its ‘war games’ with South Korea

The summit was a monumental achievement and an agreement as STATED WAS A GOOD FIRST START except to people like you who don't know what you want but are so full of hatred nothing positive can ever be accomplished

Any summit that leads to peace is a achievement....You tout trump in North Korea but slam President Obama on his monumental achievement on Iran

You people put way too much emphasis on rhetoric and very little on the process of negotiation. Tough talk often leads to positive results which I hope to see in this case. It remains to be seen if we indeed "prostrate" ourselves but right now this is a positive accomplishment

The positive results are that Trump is not going to attack N. Korea period. Let's not get ahead of ourselves. I see no chance that Kim will ever give up his nukes or ICBM's and neither do any of the experts on the N. Korean regime. But the fact that you hold out hope does take a lot of pressure off of Kim. China is easing it's sanctions already in the "spirit" of peace that Trump has initiated. Trying to strangle NK will only result in desperate moves by them that are not helpful to peace.

So meeting with NK isn't something you supported? Give me a post that condemned other Presidents from doing what you claimed?

I don’t have issues with communication. The President meeting with a world leader is a big deal. Trump gave Kim that and the press and the world stage that goes with it and got nothing in return.

The NK regime has wanted that for a long time.

Your opinion noted

It all depends on the endgame Kim wants.

Really? What the Trump giveth, the Trump can taketh away. Do you remember what happened when he cancelled about a week ago? NK went into a frenzy, and so did liberals. Let me tell you, Kim doesn't hold the cards here. Trump can drop him right back into the ****hole he came from in the blink of an eye. Don't kid yourself about what Kim got, he got a handshake and a pat on the back from Donald Trump. You think this is the first time Trump ever did that to make a deal. You think China will be pleased if Kim ****s this up?

That is your opinion but the reality is this potentially is one helluva big deal but time will tell

You gotta love the 130K "Deal" Stormy got! LOL!

So which preconditions did Kim hold up to?

Promised to denuke, and signed a pledge. If he hadn't made that pledge before the meeting, there would have been no meeting. What did your hero Obama get? Oh wait, he didn't bother trying.

You people told Obama not to even talk to them...

But whatever. Your positions all reversed the moment a Republican took office. We're used to that. So, the precondition is "I promise I will sign a meaningless letter at the meeting?" Can you show me where this precondition was set?

One thing we know from history, the NK's love to "negotiate" and they are experts at deception.

Since you think Trump is so deceptive, it ought to be a good show.

So a couple weeks ago when the summit was cancelled what was your stance?

I thought for just a moment that Donald Trump was facing the reality that Kim Mo Fo will never give up his Nukes!

I'm sure he still believes that- but you gotta love the photo op! LOL!

The only thing missing was Mike Pence holding his hand over his heart, standing and facing the US and Korean flags, and singing the National Anthem!

Obama only got Iran to give up it's nuclear program with full verification from U.N inspectors. GW Bush got a similar "agreement" to Trumps from NK in 2005. How did that work out?

North Korea has agreed in principle to end its nuclear weapons programme and rejoin the international non-proliferation treaty, marking the biggest breakthrough in its three-year stand-off with the US.
Under a draft accord issued by North Korea and five other countries in Beijing yesterday, the reclusive state promised to give up its main bargaining chip in return for energy, economic aid and a US promise not to attack.

President George Bush yesterday gave the agreement a cautious welcome. "Five nations have spoken and said it's not in the world's interest that North Korea have a nuclear weapon, and now there's a way forward," he said after a national security council meeting at the White House.

None of that really matters now. NK is already a nuclear weapons state, so their stand down from further nuke and missile testing is already a plus. Could they start back up? Of course, but that would put them in a worse position than the one they started from.

This Kim was educated in Switzerland, and has a taste for the NBA and US pop culture. There is a reasonable chance he really wants out of isolation; whether that's true is the key to the entire matter.

I believe NK is comfortable with it's nuclear and ICBM tech as it is. As long as they hold on to them they will be safe from attack. I think we are signalling the same to them. Stop threatening us and we will allow you to keep them. It is not ideal but the alternatives are far worse.

How does this work? All I know re. NK is what I read in the news. It’s my understanding that Kim rules with an iron fist. He doesn’t miss any meals and reportedly has champagne tastes. His people, not so much. Radios available in NK have no tuners; preloaded channels. If the North Koreans get a whiff of “gay Paree”, how are you going to “keep them down on the farm?”
