WASHINGTON (AP) — Donald Trump Jr. told the Senate Judiciary Committee last year he couldn’t remember whether he had discussed the Russia investigation with his father and said he didn’t think there was anything wrong with meeting a Russian lawyer at Trump Tower ahead of the 2016 presidential election, according to transcripts released Wednesday of his interview with the panel.
The committee released more than 1,800 pages of transcripts of interviews with Trump’s son and others who attended a June 9, 2016, meeting at which they expected to receive dirt about Trump’s opponent, Democrat Hillary Clinton.

Boy, how the AP has fallen in letting their liberal bias show....As I was typing this, I heard a report on FNC that Jr. didn't tell his father, because "he wouldn't pass information like that along until he had a chance to substantiate it...."

Plus, the AP, didn't even mention that we know now that the Russian lawyer Veslenskyia (sp?) met with Fusion GPS founder Glen Simpson before and after this meeting....But hey, nothing fishy there right?

We don't know what occured at that meeting, but we do know that Don Jr. is lying about it:

President Trump's oldest son told the New York Times in March that he might have attended meetings with Russians while the White House race was in progress — he is a businessman, after all — “but none that were set up. None that I can think of at the moment. And certainly none that I was representing the campaign in any way, shape or form.”

Trump Jr. has changed his story four times since then, most recently in Tuesday's tweet, which was a response to the Times's having obtained emails that show he agreed to meet the Russian lawyer after being offered “some official documents and information that would incriminate Hillary and her dealings with Russia and would be very useful to your father.”

The progression of Trump Jr.'s position can be summarized like this:

- I never represented the campaign in a meeting with a Russian.
- Actually, I did, but the meeting was about adoption.
- Well, the pretext of the meeting was incriminating information about Clinton, but we didn't actually get any.
- This kind of meeting is totally normal.
- The meeting didn't seem like such a bad idea at the time because the media wasn't focused on Russia yet.

If you'll look at my post #11, you'll see Don Jr. also earlier claimed he didn't recall any scheduled Russian meetings at all, even though it soon came out that he scheduled it!

Due the politics and the nature of the investigation, Mueller is holding-off Kushner & Don Jr. for the end. I believe Mueller may not be able to get Trump himself due to Constitutional issues, but there's absolutely nothing barring Mueller from going after Trump's family, as indeed NY State may as well. I find it incredulous that anyone can believe this investigation may have run its course, without Kushner & Don Jr. facing interviews and/or subpoenas/indictments!

This article is not about Fusion GPS, why would AP mention it?

I think you falsely believe "balance" to mean that the article includes something beneficial to conservative arguments if it includes something beneficial to liberal arguments.

I've been wondering what Mueller has in store for Junior.

While we cannot make the claim, we do know that the longer it takes to get to a subject of an investigation, the more likely it is that the subject is in actuality a target. And sometimes the targets at the top just get indicted.

But at the least, the investigation is not complete until all subjects & witnesses are interviewed. Kushner & Don Jr. will have their day with Mueller, one way or another. I suspect strongly Ivanka will, too. There's going to be fireworks somewhere down the road, and I hope by then there's at least a Democratic Party House. We are going to need to put the President in check, without a doubt.

This is why it's critical there's at the minimum, a Democratic Party controlled House. Trump is going to be in need of restraint. To let him run roughshod unchecked, will be one of the greatest usurpations of justice & democracy in the modern Presidency!

In that case, we may just-as-well throw-up our arms and accept joining the ranks of Russia, the Philippines, Turkey, Venazuala, and all the other authoritarian dictatorial third-world countries.

Did you see McConnel fielding the press' questions after yesterday's GOP Senate meeting with Trump? Pathetic! Absolutely pathetic!
