It's already been well litigated here on DP, so I won't get into the weeds. We now have the public record - never forget, but time to move on!

It's a shame for the country, but in this climate a 57-43 bipartisan conviction vote may count as a victory. Hopefully he won't run again.
 
Hallelujah! Now maybe the business of the country can continue. Unless Nancy and Chuck have plans to kidnap Trump and burn him at the stake on the White House lawn. Stranger things have happened you know.

More telling is the fact not one "D" was swayed to the other side.

i'm at 10 including the current VP, if they use the same standard... maybe 1 to 3 if they use the REAL standard.

Why would any Democrat be swayed to the side of supporting the man who sent a mob to murder them last month and did absolutely nothing to stop it?
 
Mitch McConnell is speaking now. Amazing. Why didn't he vote to convict? Anyone feels that strongly about Trump's complicity in mob action should have voted guilty.
