Former "The Apprentice" contestant Omarosa Manigault is expected to join President-elect Donald Trump's White House staff, The Associated Press reported Tuesday.

In her role, Manigault, who appeared on the first season of the NBC reality show, will focus on public engagement, the AP reported, citing two sources familiar with the decision.

Manigault was a vocal supporter of Trump during his White House bid, attending the Republican National Convention in July and later joining his campaign as director of African-American outreach.

Great choice! Here's what she had to say about the prospect of Trump being President back in September:

Charming.

And here she is not sounding exactly as much of a maniac as everybody feared in this followup interview:

Whoops, my bad. Did I say "not sounding exactly as much of a maniac?" I meant to type "confirming that she's exactly as crazy as she initially led us to believe."

Gonna be a fun four years.

I've always hated Omarosa under the assumption that her behavior was real and not an act. This is all based on her behavior on The Apprentice. If it was just a schtick to be a drama queen then I don't know what to say other than there's no way to know who she really is or how she really acts. And without question I knew she'd be getting a job in the White House. There are plenty of jobs in the White House that serve no conceivable function that she could fill.

What benefit is she possibly going to bring to the Trump administration?

I think she's pointing-out Trump's jet ...

Edit: BTW, that's Chicago - at the aborted Trump rally. She seems to be a bit in the minority!

People who are already set for life, do things because want to. For personal gratification.

After the rally was canceled, the Petersons found themselves in the middle of a group of protesters, some of whom they described as “rude.” One was holding a poster with a picture of Adolf Hitler on it.

Ms. Peterson, who was born in West Berlin in 1946 and became an American citizen in 1982, said she took offense to the comparison of Mr. Trump to Hitler.

“They said Trump is a second Hitler,” Ms. Peterson said. “I said do you know what that sign stands for? Do you know who Hitler really was?”

“I make the point that they are demonstrating something they had no knowledge about,” she said. “If you want to do it right, you do it right. You don’t know what you are doing.”

That is when she made the Nazi salute — a gesture that is banned in Germany — as a form of counterprotest. But that is all it was, she said.

“Absolutely I’m not a Nazi, no,” she said. “I’m not one of those.”

Actually she was angry they were comparing voting for Trump with being a Nazi because she is from Berlin.

It really makes her mad that they compare somebody (like Trump) to Hitler without knowing history. That is an insult to anybody who lived through it.

The same as many of his other staff picks. He wants to make sure that SNL NEVER runs out of material.

She worked for Al Gore in the first Clinton administration.

I didn't know that. But sounds like it didn't exactly work out.

Omarosa's Long History of Being Fired

According to the new issue of PEOPLE, the former political appointee — who spoke glowingly of her White House days — was banished from four jobs in two years with the Clinton administration.

At her last one, “she was asked to leave as quickly as possible, she was so disruptive,” says Cheryl Shavers, the former Under Secretary for Technology at the Commerce Department, where Omarosa worked several weeks in 2000. “One woman wanted to slug her.”

But Omarosa did not do any logistics or advance work for the Vice President, the former Gore staffer, who asked to remain anonymous, tells PEOPLE. “Her exact title was scheduling correspondent. Her job was to respond to invitations,” says the former staffer.

Omarosa was transferred to the White House personnel office, which later sent her to Commerce.

She worked for Al Gore in the first Clinton administration.

And was apparently canned for being disruptive and not doing her job, the former being especially believable to me.

Doh! Americanwoman beat me to it.

Getting fired from the Clinton administration is probably a badge of honor. Perhaps she refused to be a part of the corruption. I've been fired for refusing to break the law and violate serious safety rules.

I'm sure they asked her to corruptly respond to invitations. "Say yes, even though I know I'm not going." Bwahahaha!

She is certainly an expert at getting fired.

Give that lady a medal.

Good morning, TheGoverness. :2wave:

Not only is she an expert at getting fired, she's managed to get fired from only the very top jobs! No low level firings for her - no siree! You go, girl and keep your standards high, and you might just get fired by Trump himself! :lamo

She may have been disrupting their illegal activity,

Mornin' Polgara! :2wave:

Trump wasn't lying when he said he hires the best of the best, am I right? :lamo

Reality is becoming more like fantasy every day. This is starting to remind me of BACK TO THE FUTURE when Doc finds out that Ronald Reagan is President so he mockingly jokes that Jerry Lewis must be VP and Jack Benny Secretary of the Treasury.

BTW, she did that, not because she was a Nazi, but because she was annoyed at the protesters comparing Trump to Hitler.

A sentiment which I agree with.

I agree.

At her first White House gig, answering invitations received by Vice President Al Gore, “she didn’t do her job, and it got everybody in trouble,” says a former Gore staffer.

If they asked her to lie about things, and told the truth instead. Of course she got them in trouble!

Alright, good enough, my error, and thank you for bringing that to my attention.

Not to be spiteful, but I originally went to post the Richard B. Spencer speech, then thought a picture was better, but here was my first choice:

I corrected that in post #24. It was my error, and the result of a random Google search. I was looking to an alternative to the now oft seen Richard Spencer video (also in post #24).

But now that this is old history and Trump is President, I think I'll let it be.
