How is this different from what would be done to any criminal? Would we allow a pregnant murderer to only go to jail after consulting with the current doctor or would we put them in jail and let the doctor there take over care?

As was the case with the other news story related to the two year old, these children are going with their mothers who wish to retain custody of them and take their children with them. They do not lose their citizenship but they will lose their parents if they don't go with them.

Willing caretakers who are appealing to the mothers to give up permanent custody of their children to them while they are sent away to another country. Those caretakers are ignored or engaged with minimally by the mothers and now the caretakers are the ones crying about this.

As I, and others, have said, "Cruelty is the point." I guess that, in order to be an ICE employee, or a member of the FIC's administration, one must enjoy inflicting harm on others.

Birthright citizenship was intended for free slaves after the US Civil War. It was never intended to make citizens out of babies born to illegal immigrants who just happened to cross the border before labor. The issue is now headed to the US Supreme Court. I think that will be clarified.

When a mother who has citizenship in another country and is deported decides to take her children with her, the Constitution is being followed.

If those children group up abroad and return years later, they are still citizens. Maybe they'll come back and visit their dads who are likely in jail.

However what would NOT be in the Constitution is automatically presuming these mothers do not want their own children or removing their right as parents to take them with them due to their lack of citizenship. That is what the ACLU and others were attempting.

Until a new law is in effect, all children born are/will be citizens and mustn't be deported.

What shall we do with families who's current children are citizen but, assuming scotus hands Trump a win, have a child born after that decision?
