Trump exempts phones, computers, chips from new tariffs

I was simply making a personal observation that it's changed the way I "see" you as a poster, someone whom I used to like to engage with. I was reading along, realizing you put that in every comment where you mention Trump now.

I know Trump uses name calling (much less so in his second term) and it's not something I admire about him or something I do. But it sure as heck wasn't going to convince me to vote for Joe Biden or Kamala Harris, lol. Those votes were a binary choice only. There are many more options than 2 when it comes to choosing posters on a forum to enjoy engaging with.

As far as the points you make, for me they've been overshadowed by your odd addiction to referring to Trump as "Donnie Boy". But it's no big deal. You have plenty of others to engage with and so do I. It's just something that hit me as I was reading in this forum today and found myself thinking - hmmm, that's too bad in that I used to enjoy that poster. Now, I can't help but view your posts and you in a new way.
Fair enough, ta-ra!
🙂

This constant cycle of tariffs being out on then rescinded in part or in full is better than the complete meltdown we were facing a few days ago.

But this environment of uncertainty for businesses and investors seems lrrty guaranteed to just slowly grind us into a recession.

Yes, instead of name-calling, this time he is throwing innocent people in brutal El Salvadorian prisons.

He really seems to be turning a corner.

I dunno, there is so much potential for contagion to start spreading throughout the economy due to panic, right now, shipments of some goods are being paused due to the uncertainty.

There are real consequences happening on the ground, as a small but notable example, money is being lost NOW due to Canadians heavily curtailing their travel to the US.

There are simply so many things that could go wrong so quickly with such bad decision makers at the top it could truly spiral out of control fast.

See @ElChupacabra? She cannot say an ill thing about Donald Trump. She’s literally incapable of it. The farthest she was able to go was to say that the name-calling is not something she admires when it comes to Donald Trump, but when it comes to your posts, she has plenty of strong opinions about childishness and immaturity. This is why I think there is little long term value in engaging with a MAGA. Functionally speaking, they are more like photocopiers than human beings, taking inputs given to them by the media and replicating them in different arenas, nothing less, nothing more.

You will not find an example of @gbg3 directly speaking out against Donald John Trump against any of the following:

It's weird because "Donnie Boy" isn't even an insult, but different strokes for different folks.

Now you're pissed off that we don't have tariffs on those items?

I'm glad smartphones and other high tech items are now exempted. There now won't be a total crash of the stock market and we won't see the cost of servicing our debt climb to unsustainable levels (at least for now). If things continue the way they're continuing we may be able to escape with only 1 or 2 quarters of negative GDP growth.

Also:

1. **** Trump for placing tariffs on those items to begin with.

2. **** Trump for putting everyone through hell for nothing but to feed his own ego.

3. **** Trump for giving special exemptions to people who donated to his campaign or to his inaugural fund.

4. **** Trump for not removing all the tariffs placed on everything else.

5. **** Trump for not having a plan to rebuild American manufacturing in any thoughtful and organized way.

6. **** Trump for his total and complete lack of concern for ordinary Americans who own and manage small businesses that rely on imports.

7. **** Trump for putting the U.S. economy into a recession as a result of launching a trade war against every country on the planet at the same time.

8. **** Trump for damaging America's reputation around the world through his incompetence, corruption, and stupidity.

9. Also, **** Trump for being a corrupt, lying, ignorant, incompetent piece of shit.

10. Trump is the worst president we've had. **** him.

I could try to explain it to you… but I don’t think you’d be able to comprehend the problem here.
The way you explain things, I think most anyone would have trouble.

Why so much love for China? That's really what this is all about.

I don’t believe it would be worthwhile to try. MAGA functionally are more like a photocopier than a sentient being. That is, they’re a relatively simple automaton that takes talking points from Donald and the media, then copies them many different times, day in and day out until new points are issued. They stay focused because they have been taught that any entity that is not Donald Trump is an agent of Satan, evil incarnate and anything they say is a lie.

So, you could try to explain things to @Taylor for hours on end, but all he will see and read is <words from Satan’s agent, ignore them>. So it becomes something of a waste of time for everybody involved.

that place was Mecca for audiophiles.. I bought a big ass amp back in the 8o's from there.. it finally quit
The past is gone, never to return.
And that’s the problem conservatives don’t understand, governing and legislating by way of nostalgia doesn’t work.
