Trump asked for options for attacking Iran last week, but held off -source

I'm at least slightly concerned that he'll engage in "burn the house down" personal revenge or sabotage.
That is exactly what he’s doing with the Pentagon and Covid right now.

That's certainly unnerving.
If he had handled C19 well, he had a high probability of winning- more scary for ya

He didn't allow them to do anything. The deal expires in less than five years. At that point, Iran is allowed to build nukes.
Iran was going to build nukes regardless.
So what that it expires in 5 years? Deals are constantly being renegotiated and, by the way, Iran was in full compliance with the agreement until Trump stupidly reneged. And why did he do that? Because Obama made the deal in the first place, and Trump has gone out of his way to reverse anything and everything Obama achieved. And we all know why that is; remember the merciless ribbing Trump got from Obama at the White House correspondent's dinner? Trump never forgave Obama for that; he's that petty.

So you believe Iran does NOT want a nuclear weapon?
So why do they still have the facilities?
What is the phrase-- oh yeah, you got scammed.

And trump accelerated it rather than negotiating as he said he would.
Remember when he said it would take one day to get a better deal?

Guess what, he lied!!!

Art of the deal my ass!!!

Our allies (and Russia and China-surpise surprise surprise) choose to trust Iran.
Let us hope Mr. Biden isn't as gullible.

No, that's not what I said at all, so quit inventing. I clearly said that Iran would be stupid to launch a nuclear attack on anyone, guaranteeing their own destruction. M.A.D; look it up if you don't already know what it stands for.

Trump trusts Russia, America's long-standing foe, over your own intelligence agencies and you're concerned about Iran? Hilarious.

Its amusing--- Mr. Obama apparently wrote he allowed Putin to lecture him for about 40 minutes upon the ways Russia had been wronged by the USA.
We also now know that the Obama folks were more than happy to use 'information from a suspected Russian agent as evidence in an investigation of Trump/Russia conspiracy.
For the latter, it would seem Trump's questioning USA intelligence services is warranted.
For the former, whats the difference between 45 and 44?

I think the objective is that Iran is not to have a nuclear device.
Not that we trust upon Tehran's good judgement when possessing one.

And Iran should trust the US after decades of meddling including the CIA overthrow of their elected democratic government? They would be fools to do so. I wouldn't trust America further than I can spit. Ask the Kurds for their opinion on America's trustworthiness while you're at it...

Yes yes-- the queen and the ayaotollah are indistinguishable...

Trump is just plain ffn nuts and knows that an attack would seal the deal on a wider war in the ME

Trump has already taken actions, others planned to lock in the Biden Admin on Iran policy

This leaking from 'anonymous sources' at the White House has got to stop. It's dangerous, and is getting to be a threat to national security.

It's not unusual for a president to ask for options when being briefed on something, even if it's an option he is unlikely to need or use.

The official confirmed the account of the meeting in The New York Times, which reported the advisers persuaded Trump not to go ahead with a strike because of the risk of a broader conflict. “He asked for options. They gave him the scenarios and he ultimately decided not to go forward,” the official said.

Note that this didn't come out of nowhere. The briefing was on additional violations of the agreement that Iran made on it's nuclear program.

Trump’s request for options came a day after a U.N. watchdog report showed Iran had finished moving a first cascade of advanced centrifuges from an above-ground plant at its main uranium enrichment site to an underground one, in a fresh breach of its 2015 nuclear deal with major powers.
...

Iran’s 2.4 tonne stock of low-enriched uranium is now far above the deal’s 202.8 kg limit.

TRUMP is a threat to National Security. Trump is the biggest threat to National security facing America today. Well, Trump and his supporters.

These anonymous sources should be applauded for getting information to the public about how disgusting, corrupt, vile and stupid this administration is.

Who's going to stop him? McConnell?

i'm already on the record supporting refusal of insane orders. it sets a dangerous precedent, but this entire administration had been a dangerous precedent.

Iran is building up its nuclear aresenal.
Is this or is this not a threat to USA security? Mr. Biden is free to say it isnt, but that would place him at odds with Mr. Obama as well.
And a threat to the security of the Gulf region?

Well, if Trump wishes to "lock" Biden in on Iran policy, it would seem the phrase 'payback is a b*tch' is apt.

What?

Payback for what?

Are you seriously entertaining the idea of starting a war as a piece of domestic political revenge.

It is foolhardy to trust the word of America now, that may change, but anyone under the thumb of America, should have nukes. I would.
