Trump announces that Space Command is moving from Colorado to Alabama

Nope. I wasn’t talking about that move.

That’s the thread topic.

That is just another cynical political manipulation meant to benefit Trump’s power grab. It’s what he does. But it isn’t what a president is supposed to be doing.

Yep, being POTUS comes with lots of power. BTW, I doubt Trump cares what you think he’s “supposed to be doing”.

Keep up with your partisan arguments, that way you don't have to comment on Trump's abuse of his power.
It's also laughably wrong. Colorado has a huge space and aerospace footprint, along with science and high-tech development.

We should have never elected a black guy to be President.

It's allowed the worst of the worst in the Republican party to support the worst human.

I know....but Trump's appointee used a "process" to decide it should be in Alabama.... where there is no mail in voting (except there is for those who apply for a ballot) and voted for Trump in 2020.

It also has no aerospace industry to speak of whereas the aerospace industry is the number one employment sector in Huntsville.
You should do more (some?) research before you post.
Colorad has a very large aerospace industry.
Look into it.

I started a thread the other day saying that sane people were gonna have to get mean as **** politically (within the law) to fight the fascists who will do anything, big or small/right or wrong. It's the only way.

I almost consider people traitors to the US if they still associate with MAGAs (family or not) who support Trump and all his evil.

Colorado Springs has twice the population of Huntsville, and very low unemployment. There are also many aerospace facilities there....listed above for your convenience in post #61

Yeah, he was pissed that he lost his reelection in 2020, so right before leaving office he tried to move Space Command out of Colorado and give it to Alabama. Now he's pissed about mail-in voting, so he's going after CO because we're not playing "dictator ball" with him.

Colorado Springs is also pretty ****ing red.

Also we have a bunch of those Mega Church thingies...though that might not be a plus.

I'm sure that won't cost the taxpayer very much.

Trump gave his “proof of life” speech and appearance to quell public rumors.

I doubt we will see “Space Force” actually move locations.

Fluff press conference “Mission Accomplished”

😂
"Proof of Life" had tough guy talk on full display. When asked if court rulings would avoid the NG in blue cities, he said
"Oh, we're Going In. I won't say when, but We're Going In".

But we have the usual set here expounding on the virtues of Alabama.

You can argue that Huntsville is "better" until the cows come home. That was never a consideration of Trump's....he said so. Colorado has mail in ballots and a governor he doesn't like and Alabama votes for him. Tell us why that's all a good thing...
I’ve already told you why it’s a good thing for it to be in Huntsville. You can complain about it all you like. It won’t change anything.

No, you're making excuses for Trump's revenge tour.

Colorado generally has the better space and aerospace industry.

And you can continue to avoid the question put to you....Trump stated the reason for the move is due to mail in voting and Colorado didn't vote for him.. So put all your Huntsville "facts" aside because they are not part of Trump's "process" , and answer whether you think those are valid reasons for a president to act. Is bragged about political retaliation behavior that is acceptable by the POTUS?

Yep, probably to trigger the left into loudly opposing something which makes no difference to 90% (or more) of the electorate. ;)

Alabama is Alabama.

They have a strong aero industry. But 🤷‍♀️ I doubt we will see much actual “Space Force” infrastructure move.

As for Trump’s tough talk…the National Guard deployments are ridiculous showmanship and authoritarian bullshit meant to intimidate blue areas.

Let’s not pretend that this is fighting crime, let’s just call the Authoritarian bullshit out for exactly what it is. Retaliation and pettiness at the hands of a want to be dictator playing to his base of clapping seals.

It's just Big Government nonsense as usual. Trump wants federal control over the States and doesn't like it when he thinks a State is standing up to him. Big Government types love this sort of behavior by Trump.

Mostly Alabama has its historical connections to NASA, but in terms of the space and aerospace industry, Colorado has them beat. We are the largest employer of space and aerospace industry jobs in the country.

Incorrect. Huntsville was the location chosen by the Air Force selection process and announced as the location of the headquarters in 2021. That is the logical place for it.

You know they don't want to hear that. There's a bs narrative to run with, lol. Trump even had the selection process to go through twice and both times it came back to Huntsville. If anything it was politically motivated for Biden and the democrats to move it to Colorado.......the shame of the left has no bounds.

Trump announced this move, and was pretty clear it was a retaliatory move due to Colorado using mail in ballots. He's declaring war on blue states plain and simple. Colorado Springs (heavily republican) is the home of the Air Force Academy and an Air Force Base and was logically chosen by Biden to be the home of Space Command. Alabama however is a red state, and will do whatever the king requests.
The opposite is true. Trump initiated Space Force in his first term, and the command was intended to be set up in Marshall Spaceflight Center in Huntsville Alabama at that time. It was the Biden administration that went political and changed it to Colorado.

It was determined by Trump's appointed Secretary of the Air Force that it should go to Huntsville in early Jan, 2021....right after he lost the election.

WTF? This is moving federal agency personnel - not controlling a state.
