Trump. 165 days and counting...

He is the president elect now, and less than a month away from taking office. A more apt comparison would be to Obama.

Why? Trump wasn't running against Obama. Let him take office and then you can start counting.

I mean sure, Obama had his first press conference a few days after the election but then what guy wouldn't show up for oral favors?

Goddamn, how can you trust this lunatic?
Goddamn, this is gonna be a rough four years.

For a lot of American voters sheer bravado is all you need.

Quick, can you deliver a badass one liner? You're hired. Resume? Who the hell needs one!

The President of the United States now is an entry-level position with a recommended quality list equaling those of a popcorn flick. Meanwhile, the City Council of nowhereville requires more experience and fortitude. Sheesh.

Because, as much as this pains me to say, he is Obama's peer now. He is gonna be the president, and thus, should be held to the standards of the office.

Also, I'm sorry that Trump needs a safe space from any criticism. Poor baby. FFS.

Funny how the people who say they voted for Trump because he is in no way like Hillary or Obama are now excusing his actions by comparing him to Hillary and Obama,

I guess that means he's just another establishment politician. Same old, same old.

Kinda like the people who voted for Obama because he wasn't George Bush spent 8 years defending Obama by showing he isn't any different than Bush? Funny how that works.

If it makes you feel better, Obama and Trump are better options than Hillary.

He's the president,
he should make himself available to all media. Not just the "trustworthy" media. That's not how it's supposed to work.

Trump isn't the president,Obama is the president.

Trump will become the president after he is sworn in on Inauguration Day.

I feel like we're gonna get a lot of voter regret over Trump. He's a man with no substance, and his ego got him to the White House. Crazy times.

President elect, same point.

Voter regret is the most optimistic case.

Is that a prediction?

What should Trump speak about at a press conference now? What would you ask him?

Also, I'm sorry that Trump needs a safe space from any criticism. Poor baby. FFS.

No, no safe space. The media is currently pushing fake news about Russians upending the US elections. When they calm down and stop crying they get a press conference.

I'm still young, my optimism hasn't been completely drained from me. Though, the world is trying its damnedest to do so.

His cabinet picks, plans for the future, etc. You know, all that president stuff.

Aww, I'm sorry. Baby needs a safe space and can't defend himself. He can't handle dealing with what every other president has dealt with? He's a special little snowflake, ain't he?

Trump is definitely smart and flexible but I believe he underestimates his adversaries. One of his biggest mistakes is not understanding the Asian culture. To them threats and negative gestures are worse than actions, it's all about honor and saving face with them and he doesn't understand that yet. It could cost us if China gets pissed.

He was having press conferences left and right during the election -- how many did Hillary have?

None as I recall. Trump isn't president yet. Why do people who cannot even vote in our election worried about how many press conferences the president-elect for another country gives? Do any of us care how many press conferences the PM of England Gives? I sure as hell do not

Did you somehow miss his cabinet picks and plans for the future at this point?

HAHAHA! Yeah, no. The special little snowflakes are the press and the Democrats desperately seeking outrages. I mean, I suppose he could hold a press conference and spend an hour discussing the abject failure of Obama's foreign and domestic policy over the last 8 years if you want, but those would be the only questions he would be asked.

There's always questions to be asked. Why them? What are the specifics? Trump has been very sparse on specifics. We deserve specifics.

I mean, he could take questions discussing the outrageous amount of lies he has made over the course of the campaign and since the election. Hell, his Twitter feed alone is fodder for many, "pants of fire" lies. Of course, you know this is why he's unwilling to step foot in front of reporters. They'll call him out on his ****.

Greetings, SenorXm/Sirius. :2wave:

I think that those who do so mean only to show contrast, because he is definitely not an establishment politician! He is a businessman, and they play that way because the rules of that game are very competitive, so I guess the only time politicians compete is when they're up for reelection!

I think the standard for press conferences is different between a private citizen and the President-elect.

I'll let you decide : which is Clinton and which is Trump?

No, not as Zpresident Elect. Obama reminded him . . . There's only one president at a time.

Um - I never said she should have one now.

At any rate, The standard for a President-elect is different than that for a candidate. Even if we start counting from Election Day, not one.

I agree that the standard is different. How many do you think he should have? How many did Obama or other presidents have before he became President?

They're only supposed to do that to Democrats.
