Trump: ‘A Lot of People Are Saying Maybe We’d Like a Dictator’

Honestly, this feels as a set up by the Power Elite to prepare us for the upcoming cull. Democrat and Republican lawmakers are friends-no matter how they act in front of the camera. They are friends. Even, most are friends with Trump. This nation deserves what it will be getting. I hate you all.

With the GOP putting plans in place to control the House for the foreseeable future, I doubt impeachment will be in the cards.
I dunno...........I went to Walmart to buy my MIL coffee and the price of previously cheap Folgers had doubled.
Those tariffs on Brazil are starting to bite.
Americans may put up with ICE stormtroopers and the military on street corners, but expensive coffee may be too much!

It certainly doesn't help that his mindless MAGA monkeys are out there hoping for it.

IT'S A CULT.
I loved when the woman said....."Everything Trump says is honest"........yikes!
Sad.

Topography is limiting everywhere to some degree.
Not really. The Midwest is flat as a board.

It has high(er) costs associated, which does restrict young buyers usually. But unless the government is sitting on useable land (for what purpose?) and can be bought by developers, then perhaps the area isn't suitable for continued growth. Might have to move.
I have experienced a westward migration my entire working life (from Austin) because I can't stand living in town, noise, schools and traffic.
The growth is being driven by the economy. The government is indeed sitting on the land. The purpose is political, from what I can see. Rosen's bill came up for a Senate vote and was shot down by a Republican claiming passing the bill would be unfair to other states. Flimsy excuse.

I mean, looks beautiful and daunting from a developmental standpoint.
Daunting, but accomplished with skilled work.

This development is also under construction. It's about a year ahead of Quilici in Verdi. Phase 1 is almost complete, and the homes are nearly all occupied.

Moving 3 million cubic yards of dirt does sound daunting. Q&D performed well.

Much of Louisiana is lower than sea level, talk about a temporary facade of livable areas!
Lol.

ICE doesnt start at $90K per year for a HS grad with no experience. Its more like $50K. They also get a $10K bonus a year for the next four years, not $50K the first year.

Thanks.

I suppose I should have verified, before trusting. Even though the Administration is touting "50K" sign-on bonus.

On one level, what you say is refreshing as I don't know how many posters here will tell us the Constitution will protect us, which is hopelessly naive. On another level, you offer a degree of cynicism that is discomforting in its own right. I guess I am in the middle, still hoping people will wake up and fight, before its too late. I suppose that its is own level of naivete.

I have been thinking for a while of moving out of the country, but in the end, I decided I was too old to make that work well. I, did, however, recently relocate from Denver to Southwest Colorado, with a part of my motivation to remove myself somewhat from urban life where this is in your face everyday, replacing it with simply enjoying life, where the day often starts with a good paddle, a long bike ride or a little flyfishing... in other words, I am trying to get to my roots of enjoyment and shut much of this out.

That said, I am still a politically aware person that loves what America has been. I do believe in the 'shinning city on the hill' though that is long past. It is very tough to watch this, particularly to see my fellow Americans fall for this clown that will screw them (all of us) eventually, if they haven't been screwed already. I do fear for America's future.

Well written, upsideguy. (y)

His mesmerized followers chant "USA! USA!" but they don't have the faintest concept of what this nation is supposed to be all about. Clearly they have never read the Constitution.

I certainly don't have a clue what America is anymore.

Is this the rambling of a sane man.....?

President Donald Trump insisted that "nobody needed magnets" until a Chinese plot "convinced" the world to use them 20 years ago.

During a Monday Oval Office meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, Trump reflected on his relationship with China.

"They have to give us magnets, if they don't give us magnets, and then we have to charge them 200 percent tariff for something, you know," the president said. "You know, China intelligently went and they sort of took a monopoly of the world's magnets, and nobody needed magnets until they convinced everybody 20 years ago, let's all do magnets.""

Yeah, let's all "do" magnets.

He's retarded

The battle of our day is no longer about Democrats versus Republicans or left versus right. The choice right now is democracy or dictatorship. And we're sliding faster than I ever thought possible into the latter. Everyone must choose which side they’re on.

Some domestic and international Republicans sure seem to be ok with it.

It's the sort of people vulnerable to what Trump and rightwing media are selling. They're told Democrats are stirring up racial hatred and making minorities riot when no racism otherwise existed. Opening the border so brown skinned criminals can steal jobs, sell drugs, and rape women. Encouraging the immorality of the LGBTQ community. Forcing hardworking people to pay for others' healthcare, welfare, liberal education. Left wing academics and educators talking down America and capitalism and Christianity (in that order).

They look at all those people, and they see a scapegoat for everything wrong with their lives. And Trump tells them they're right to be angry and afraid, and that he'll fix it. Small wonder he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and they wouldn't care.

I predict if impeachment occurs, "moderate" GOP Senator Susan Collins will opine that...."I believe the President has learned a lesson"
No GOP senator will vote for impeachment........ever.
Is that before or after she writes a terse, scathing email and leaves it in her "drafts" folder? ... the sad thing is she may have more backbone than any other Republican.

It is a shame this is our leader. I would never vote for this kind of nonsense. I proudly voted against it. We would not have this embarrassment if we had elected Kamala Harris. We would have sane sensible leadership. Such a shame so many poorly informed fools and deranged haters voted this guy in. They have not respected our government for a long time. They are seriously trying to destroy our government - and doing a scary bang-up job of it.

A lot of very stupid people are saying that.
Well I guess those would be in the MAGA wheelhouse.

Psychobabble. Plain and simple. Meaningless drivel.

"A lot of people" is not quantifiable. How much is "a lot" in Trump's daily world? How reliable is Donald TACO Trump? How coherent is Trump?

And who are these people? What is their knowledge? What is their justification? Maybe some will out themselves on DP.

Quick analysis mixed with documented past behavior and a measure of common sense sets off the red meat warning. Trump's comment is standard bollocks meant for mass consumption by what Trump calls "the basement dwellers", MAGAs.

Its intended to warm people to it.

This is exactly what was discussed during the Campaign. Then the Trump Fanboys called people CT nuts and said that it wasn't going to happen, certainly not. And if it did happen, we would have to wait and see what the action would be. At that time, when we saw it, we could debate it. But debating something before it happened, or blaming someone for it, was just CT nonsense.

We discuss such things all the time before they happen. NASA has people who sit around all day and try to figure out what could happen during missions, and what the consequences might be, and what can be done to prevent those consequences. I live in Georgia and we spend some time before every Hurricane Season preparing for the Hurricane that might not come. But doing so before a Dictator declares himself in charge for life, that's just CT and a waste of time.

The fork in the road is right in front of us. Yet even now the Fanboys refuse to consider which way we should turn. Only after we make a choice will they declare they actually support it. They think it will be easy and good. Purging those who disagree with you is always good right? Unless that disagreement is with the Left and their guy is in the White House.

During Obama's entire administration we heard endless claims of camps being constructed for reeducation. None were ever actually built. But that didn't stop it. Black Helicopters dropping Paramilitary people in the cities to take control with the actual Military. Why? The Cities were Democratic. Why would Obama attack his own supporters? The CT nonsense they preached made no sense. But when we point out what Trump actually says, we are a) Lying, b) Taking it out of context, c) Falling for him just tweaking the Libs. He's just trolling you.

No.

Because Trump is such a large personality Harris' personality never really shined at all. After reading in on her I was certain and remain so that she was totally unqualified for the job...........her whole campaign/existence as "not Trump"

She would have divided the country as much as Trump...but she wouldn't have waged war on immigrants, poor people, Canada, Europe, transsexuals, and Not MAGAs

I feel like trumps gameplan has been tried before.

Its intended to warm people to it.

As a journalist you learn to spot 'qualifiers' which are the bread and butter of liars.

"Most people", "some people", "caring people" all identifiers/qualifiers that suggest the speaker has actually TALKED to someone with that opinion. My experience is it almost always preceded total bullshit. Others can include "don't quote me on this", "people have told me" and sometimes "I have read".
Liars are accomplished and know a stand alone statement is easily discarded. But when you invent a qualifier it's more likely the listener will buy it.

The official "journalese" for such a qualifier is "according to informed sources...." or "insiders say...."

I feel like trumps gameplan has been tried before.
And yet that gameplan never reached a critical mass of supporters like it has with him. The willingness to overlook criminality and personality defects in an individual, like it has with him.

Something shifted in society the last 15 years, accelerated by the pandemic perhaps.

And yet that gameplan never reached a critical mass of supporters like it has with him.
I'm not so sure that is true. You might want to ask a German.

Ah..................

1935 Germany would seem to displace that idea.

I should have been more specific. When I said something has shifted in society in the last 15 years, (perhaps accelerated by the pandemic), I meant the United States.
