Trump’s border czar says he’s sending National Guard to fight LA anti-ICE protests as clashes continue into second day

I'm done with you.

That escalated quickly. I thought I was being super reasonable with my responses.

I don't get it. Why do you think it's unreasonable for me to think you supported Trump? At no point did you suggest otherwise. And you seem to express a desire for a harsh immigration policy just like Trump supporters do. You also have a libertarian tag just like all a number of fake libertarians on here who support Trump's extreme government interventions.

And why do you think it's unreasonable for me to suggest that Trump supporters can be unreasonable, mean people?

Also, you should have the courage of your convictions. Answer: did you support Trump sending illegal immigrants to CECOT in El Salvador despite the fact they have no criminal record? Yes or no.

Maybe you just don't like Trump supporters? Maybe you agree with me and you do think they are actually unreasonable but you are too afraid to say it? So, what's the big deal?

I still think it is great that we are enforcing the law. I think it is great that people entering our country with no respect for our laws and then committing crimes are being rounded up. I don't care if you are a citizen or illegal alien when you commit crimes you need to be arrested and dealt with.

The real pathetic part of this who thing is there are millions of law abiding people from all over the world who are waiting to come to this country and the left want criminals instead. Beyond ridiculous.
By which you mean brown people?

I said threaten to invade.
You do know what the word threaten means?
Cite a quote from 45/47 where he uses the word "invade" re Canada.

I found one mentioning "economic force," but that's not quite the same in the real world.

Perhaps not. But that has nothing to do with what I posted, which is already evident.
Since 45/47 has not presently "chickened out" on anything, except in Mad Lib fantasies, you must be prognosticating.

Keep on tryin.' If the Little Engine could do it, maybe you can too.
Is it the lack of mirrors or have you lost your glasses?

Must be tough reading children's books without your glasses, but I understand. (The train wins. Hope I didn't spoil the ending for ya.)

He said he wants to make it the 51st state.
How else can that be interpreted given that Canada has zero intention of becoming so by peaceful means.

I don't care about the color of their skin. I said criminal as opposed to law abiding. You seem to bring race into it as if you believe that race determines how people act. SAD.

It’s the irrational hostility.

Improper entry is not so terrible that it justifies your extreme hostility towards them.

The illegal immigrants are good, hard working people who don’t bother anyone.

When you and other Trump supporters try to portray them as hardened criminals with no respect for the law you’re lying.

If you can't figure out that sanctuary cities are hiding criminals from the law. I am sorry. It is beyond obvious.

This isn’t accurate at all, and local police departments aren’t tasked with the job of apprehending illegal immigrants for ICE’s benefit. That’s not their job anymore than it’s their job to make sure citizens are paying their federal taxes.

What is irrational is the language we use to characterize illegal immigrants.

"Illegal immigrants are criminals."
"Illegal immigrants are hard-working people who don't bother anyone."

Most illegal immigrants are hard-working people who keep their heads down and their noses pressed to the work-a-day grindstone. Some illegal immigrants are criminals or worse. There is no satisfactory way to split the difference, is there?

No. The language anti-immigrant hardliners use is a reflection of how they think, the policies they seek to implement, and how they want the immigrants treated. It’s not some separate thing.

If someone crosses the border improperly to work, they’re not inherently a bad person.

They are someone who has committed a minor crime that is closer to a crime like trespassing. They should not be put in the same category as murderers or thieves. They’re not hurting anyone, in fact, their labor is quite helpful.

Yet many Trump supporters keep insisting we treat all of them as if they are the worst of the worst criminals. Many Trump supporters think it’s okay to send them to a maximum security prison in El Salvador despite the fact they have no criminal record, and to do so without respecting their due process rights.

And the crime of improper entry is not a crime that involves hurting other people, it’s not a crime of immorality. It’s on the books solely to help the government secure the borders and ports of entry. And to a great extent an informal system has developed which practically allows an illegal immigrant to live and work here. It’s the system as a whole that needs to be reformed, not the individual illegal immigrants. So, when people portray illegal immigrants as being a population of mostly bad people, they are not thinking logically, and in my view have some sort of irrational hostility towards them.

And citizens who live in communities with large illegal immigrant populations view them differently, and they’re not viewed in the same way as a Trump supporter in Alabama might view them. There are cultural differences to be sure, but on the whole they’re just ordinary people, neighbors, students, co-workers, employees, etc. And that’s why you saw the reaction you did in Los Angeles when ICE used heavy-handed tactics.

So, no illegal immigrants are criminals? Don't answer. The question is rhetorical to refer to the point I tried to make.

Immigration reform, I believe, will take on a significant importance for the January 3, 2026, midterm elections. We ought to begin considering what "reform" actually means.

One element among many I'm considering is the status of the forgotten DREAMERS. The issue should have been resolved in their favor several years ago. Now, with the arrival of a host of new undocumented children, postponing the resolution simply adds numbers and complexity to the problem.

If you can't figure out that sanctuary cities are hiding criminals from the law. I am sorry. It is beyond obvious.
That's not the left. That's a small number of people running a few cities. You should have already known that without me having to tell you.

And since you're so gung-ho on upholding the law, why did you vote for a convicted felon to be president? Seems to me you really don't give a shit about the law.

So, no illegal immigrants are criminals?

Of course, some of them are bad people just like some of the population of citizens are bad people who engage in crimes deserving of our strongest condemnation. But many Trump supporters are not making this distinction. And they’re not making this distinction because some Trump supporters are belligerent assholes who are also racist, bigoted, and hateful.

Well, you won’t find much disagreement with me on this issue.

No hostility just don't want people who do not respect our laws moving into my country. Especially when there are millions of law abiding people wanting to come here.

Improper entry is not so terrible that it justifies your extreme hostility towards them.
Expecting people to obey our laws is not wrong or hostile. It is what should be expected of the people we allow into our country.

Illegal entry just shows they have no respect for our laws. Plain and simple. When arrested for breaking other laws they need to be deported and banned. Now that Trump has secured our border and we toss out all the lawless we can start bringing law abiding immigrants into this country again. Good people who want to be apart of this country and live the American Dream. People who will wave the American flag proudly and continue the legacy of making this country great.

The illegal immigrants are good, hard working people who don’t bother anyone.
Wrong. Legal immigrants are what we need. Law abiding people who want to be Americans and become part of the American Dream.

When you and other Trump supporters try to portray them as hardened criminals with no respect for the law you’re lying.
Wrong. When they enter illegally or overstay their visa they are breaking the law. When they commit crimes and are arrested they become criminals and need to b removed. We do not need to support criminals entering our country. We need to bring in law abiding people and toss the criminals out permanently.
Lawless criminals need to be replaced with law abiding immigrants. That is what we need.

This isn’t accurate at all, and local police departments aren’t tasked with the job of apprehending illegal immigrants for ICE’s benefit. That’s not their job anymore than it’s their job to make sure citizens are paying their federal taxes.
I was a cop and know the law. When a person is pulled over and is wanted by the law in other states or the federal government looking the other way is wrong. Please. The proper authorities need to be notified and these people need to be turned over to the law enforcement who are wanting them for possible crimes. You either support criminals or you support the law. If you are in law enforcement or the judicial system you are committing a crime by not doing your job. Justice for all or for none. You don't get to chose who is above the law and does not have to follow the law.

Yes people have been wrongfully arrested and even sentenced in every country in the world. These things will happen. But abandoning the law and the justice system is not the solution. Harboring people wanted by the justice system and for breaking our laws is not the solution. When criminals are supported over the law and justice system you create a horrible place that law abiding people flee from. We see this all over the world. We don't need to become what they have become.

No hostility just don't want people who do not respect our laws moving into my country. Especially when there are millions of law abiding people wanting to come here.

You're right, and, also, improper entry is a minor crime. It's similar to trespassing. So, it's not appropriate to label them as hardened criminals deserving of our worst punishments.

Expecting people to obey our laws is not wrong or hostile. It is what should be expected of the people we allow into our country.

I think expecting people to obey our laws is the right thing to do, and we can do that and also not be unnecessarily cruel.

Illegal entry just shows they have no respect for our laws. Plain and simple.

The problem with this comment is that it isn't true. The vast majority of illegal immigrants come here and just work and don't bother anyone.

When arrested for breaking other laws they need to be deported and banned.

They're deporting anyone they can find.

Now that Trump has secured our border and we toss out all the lawless

we can start bringing law abiding immigrants into this country again

Okay, how many low-skill migrants from Central and South America are you comfortable granting temporary work permits to? What number would you put it at?
