Trade deal made with China!

How pitiful. Their country scores a historic trade agreement with an economic competitor and the LW idiots line up to cheer for its failure.

I can't imagine the announcement won't include a lowering of tariffs . That and future talks. That was China's going in demand. They will settle for nothing less to enter into actual trade talks.
What was the figure previously profferd as a precondition for talks 80% (ish)? I admittedly did not pay close attention.

Really? Historic.....please share the details.
Wait, why would one expect a MAGA such as @Bullseye to have details? Donald doesn’t even read him in on his golf plans. He’s obviously not going to have details of any deal.

some kind of deal...not a trade agreement though.. still that is VERY GOOD considering last week China was saying they wouldn't even talk!
Trump backed down from 145% to 80% and then 60%. They wouldn't be having a discussion otherwise.

We all know that the Trumpanzees will exaggerate a pre meeting handshake into a massive deal win for Trump in an effort to deflect from the harm that Trumps tariffs are about to drop on US consumers. I don't expect we will see anything more at this stage than a lower (but still crazy high) rate of reciprocal tariffs, which will be touted as a giant win without making any meaningful difference to the loss of trade already occurring. The more interesting thing for me will to see if they publish a firm timeline for completion of more detailed talks that might actually achieve some real change. Would love to be surprised by an announcement on Monday that matches the positive hype Trump is trying to generate, but it would be a pretty big surprise.

Yes that was the number but expect lower.

You have a right to an opinion no matter how ******-** it is.
There was a spectacle about a month ago, it caused markets to malfunction, and then he had to back off to keep bond markets from melting down.

I guess this aspect of his policy was historic. No POTUS has ever behaved in such a way.

How pitiful - the only place we are seeing this is from this administration, which lies all the time.
Glad you fell for it.

Who wants to bet it's all bullshido?

I will wait until a government I distrust less makes an announcement. If China confirms an agreement, I will take notice.

CNBC reports, "The White House on Sunday announced a “trade deal” with China without providing specifics, after Trump administration officials spent the weekend negotiating with their Chinese counterparts.

"Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Sunday that the trade talks that took place in Geneva over the weekend were “productive.”

"He said the talks yielded “a great deal” of productivity.

"Greer said during remarks on Sunday that the officials reached some form of a “deal,” but did not provide any specifics. He hailed the discussions as “very constructive.”

“It’s important to understand how quickly we were able to come to agreement, which reflects that perhaps the differences were not so large as maybe thought,” Greer said.

“We’re confident that the deal we struck with our Chinese partners will help us work toward resolving that national emergency,” he added."

It is so typical of the Trump White House that they would brag about trade talks with China, and no one knows what they are talking about. This causes suspicion concerning the productivity of the talks. Remember Trump boasting about 200 trade talks. Trump has been lying to Americans for several weeks about traded talks, but couldn't name with whom.

From China we get the typical B.S. in these situations. Vice Premier He, speaking to reporters at China's mission to World Trade Organization, described the talks as "candid, in-depth and constructive" on issues of concern to both countries.

I hope my suspicions are wrong. Trump has created a serious problem. Let's hope those talks are productive so little girls can have their dolls. That's important.

And that little electronic companies can have their parts and inventory. That too is important.

So what China is saying is B.S, but this doesn't bother you?

The art of the deal. "This is hurting you more that it's hurting me." Just words. You don't know if that's really true until you quantify it. That's what the last few weeks did. We shut down trade and we look at its effects on both sides. Now that we have some real numbers we can reach an agreement somewhere in the middle that makes sense for both sides. Knowledge is power. It's painful but its the only way.

It says all you need to know about the pathetic nature of their puerile little lives, doesn't it?

The usual meltdown from the left as their narrative crumbles around them. Sad that they want this country to fail just so they can cry about one man.
