I was there in September of last year. Went right where the "epicenter" is. No burned out buildings. Some damage to facades. Lots of graffiti, some broken glass and repaired glass.
You do realize what the Weather Underground did, right? And I have no complaints at all about them investigating WUO. Mind you, it was far before my time, but a group that definitely was a danger to others. They were not the only ones being investigated by the FBI though back then.
I didn't see a lot of soccer moms threatening anyone. Saw a lot of men running their mouths, though. Moms are pissed too, but they graduated kindergarten and know where to draw the line.

From the DOJ statement I read, they are basically meeting with locals and helping the Barney Fifes get their shit together. A national association requested help with a nationwide problem. Obviously, local pd has already been involved but the problem is getting worse. Time the threats stopped.
