To Republicans....

Well Im not a Republican (or Dem) so know this isnt adressed to me, but my better halfs mother made the best southern breakfast that a man could ever want, & she was a Democrat, so there's something I like about a Democrat.

Thats it? You're mother-n-law makes a good southern breakfast? Nothing political? Economical? Anything related to actual Democrats as a whole?

Is that not enough?

They are only human, much like you & I, we all have commonalities, a shared taste in breakfast, or favorite football team.

Its not like theyre an alien collective, with 3 arms to admire.

I bet the most right wing democrat is actually further right than the most left wing republican, so what aspect am I meant to like?

I bet there is a Democrat out there who I probably agree with on virtually everything, & another with whom I share zero common ground, & the same with Republicans, so Im not sure what Im meant to say.

Cant I just be happy at liking a breakfast, rather than worrying about supporting, or attacking a stereotype that someones bound to say is nothing like a Democrat, because there a Democrat, but nothing like the stereotype?

Is there anything about Democrats that you don't find offensive?

I guess I'm kind of a republican leaning libertarian, but I find that I like the socially liberal stance that the democrats have on equal rights, gay marriage, etc. I don't however like the ways they deal with these issues: ie: affirmative action.

I suppose that's why I'm a libertarian. I can be socially liberal and financially conservative at the same time.

That's more than say, Ann Coulter believes. If you told her that the person serving her food was a liberal, she'd skipbout on the bill.

I like their willingness to compromise, as long as nothing is actually ceded in the process. :)

It is an act with Ann.

She has dined in WeHo on several occasions.

She dated Bill Maher.

Not saying she doesn't believe in conservatism, but a lot of the "eww, liberals " thing is an act.

Thank you for keeping to the spirit of this thread.

I'm not a Republican, but I am a conservative. Just about the only political issues they portend to have that I can agree with concerns marijuana and homosexuals...though I wish both sides would drop them as political issues.

Everything else about them I pretty much disagree with...especially their desire to have the government take care of everyone's problems.

I'm not a republican, but I don't find their stance on gay marriage offensive. I just wish they would think twice about their love with government running marriage. I can't think of anything else at the moment, sorry.

As someone that generally dislikes both sides, they are both offensive in their own ways. The (D)'s because they have zero understanding of fiscal matters, the (R)'s because they support religious based morality imposed on all others.

Of the two (R)'s more often come across as intelligent and informed, and (D)'s come across as, um, not either of those. Of course it shifts sometimes.

Just remember this about the two parties, and party line voters:
