Tim Walz abandoned his soldiers when they deployed to Iraq

by all means point out where Walz has ever called our soldiers names or denigrated them.

Well he did reportedly refer to at least some elements of the Minnesota National Guard as a collection of cooks or something to that effect. I don't hold that against him though. Sergeants Major talk shit like that sometimes.

That just tells me that he has two stories for at least some different occasions.
Or that people don't always speak well, give proper context, meaning to what they say. I give people the benefit of the doubt, especially when looking at context of what they are saying and have stated prior.

Very true. A quick look in your mirror will certainly verify the "silly shit" authoring observation.

Please come back with a post where you criticized Trump for his insulting remarks about McCain's service. Or a post criticizing Trump for his multiple phony medical deferment.
I'll wait.

Yeah yeah...everyone has to wear the appropriate label, and if they don't have one then one will be supplied.

Makes everything so....simplistic.

So not just a likelihood that he knew. We know he knew.
We know he knew in March that they could go, had a heads up that it was likely coming. But he had filed his paperwork to run for office in Feb 2005. They did not have orders at that time and things could have changed before they were issued orders.

Yeah yeah...everyone has to wear the appropriate label, and if they don't have one then one will be supplied.

Makes everything so....simplistic.
it looks really hypocritical for a poster to denigrate this man for retiring, after 24 years....all the while they are giving Trump a pass.

Still waiting on your past posts. Tick tock, tick tock.

You apparently give Biden a pass. What does that make people like yourself?

Also from the source I posted earlier:

“Walz did make a comment speaking to a group, he’s done it a couple of times, where he has used language that has suggested that he carried weapons in a fighting situation,” CNN’s Jake Foreman said.

He knew it was a possibility, yes. He retired 2 months before they got the official word they would be included in the pending rotation.

I'm pretty sure we've trod this ground more than once.

Yeah we have. So I don't know why you want to keep harping when we are in agreement.

That's Jake Foreman's inference. It's probably other people's inference, as well.

As a former Guard member, his statements don't seem at all misleading to me. Perhaps it's simply a case of assumed understanding of context/nuance on the part of Walz?

Yeah we have. So I don't know why you want to keep harping when we are in agreement.

Take a look in the mirror.

You keep misrepresenting what you had earlier agreed to. "He knew it was possible" all of a sudden becomes "he knew it was happening", again.

He has said more than once that he never was in combat.

Um, he had asthma for ****s sake....how do you get them to take you in the service with ASTHMA?

Trump had legitimate reasons as well. You don't think so, but so what? He did have legitimate deferments, and so did Bill Clinton. Stop picking and choosing, Clara. It does you no favor to call Trump a draft dodger while turning the blind eye towards the other two presidents who had legitimate deferments as well.

Your position is that the timing of his retirement was just happy coincidence.

I believe the upcoming deployment played a part. Retiring before fulfilling his commitment- with resulting demotion- wouldn't have been necessary without the looming deployment.
Yeah, well, after 24 years he's allowed to retire and run for Congress, which is another way to serve one's country. Maybe he did retire to avoid what he might have reasonably assumed would have been another extended deployment (but before that was announced), and that would have put off his run for another two years at least.

At this point we're doing a search for reasons to crap on his military service. There's no need.

Where has Walz said that he has actually done so? Specific statements he has. I'm tired of people making claims about what he was trying to "suggest" when it sounds more like they are trying to infer.

None of the Walz apologists seem to mention the fact that he applied for and was accepted to the Sergeant Majors Academy. That requirement alone meant that he should have stayed in for a period of time that covered the deployment.

Would Walz have stayed in the NG and the Academy commitment if there was no rumors of deployment on the horizon? Possibly.

He was already on record as not supporting the war in Iraq. So, he decided to retire vice finish his commitment for service and his commitment for professional education.

Take a look in the mirror.

It seems like it is you who keep responding to me with narratives with which we both agree. I keep saying, "Yes we agree"...and you feel some urge to come back again.

they weren't being deployed when he retired or when he filed for retirement...

she is trying to claim that he is a draft dodger as if he planned on being born with a condition like asthma.

I don't blame anyone for not serving. People who didn't serve better keep their damned mouths shut when it comes to someone else's actual service, however.

I don't see a speculation that his demotion was no big deal to him as negating the fact it was a demotion.

You guys are wildly spinning instead of just admitting he retired when he did to serve his own interests. I guess the perceptions Walz was concerned about are a real concern still.
They are a 'concern' for people in search of 'concerns' to crap on his military service.
