Sure, students/faculty could go to the public library and borrow some of these books, although some sound more academic. But how do they know such books exist if they aren't in the stacks to glance over? What worries me is that this is very clearly being done so the learning materials offered fit with the current administration's perspective and don't offer a different point of view. I never knew this to be government's role.

I agree that it's smells bad.

We don't live in a time where we're unaware of anything that isn't right in front of us so I don't think anyone would be unaware that some books even exist. I would venture to guess that most people go to the internet for research before going to check out a physical book from the library.
