There really is a breakdown of society here in the USA.

Guy who routinely calls anyone to the left of Pinochet a “commie” and supports Donald Trump suddenly concerned by “lack of civility”, “incompetence”, “cheating and lying”.

🙄
They are so obvious in their lame trolling efforts. If they had any shame they would be embarrassed

They also shit on the most people. Gee, why are all these people working 40-80 hours a week to barely get by so pissed off? Why are those jobless, starving, homeless people stealing in order to survive. Let's not do a damn thing to help them then whine when they get despearate

You do know a Hillary supporter started that birther nonsense and sherff Joe took it off and ran with it

Not sure what you mean. Hillary let it go too when there was no evidence. Let us know when you trust any evidence for anything that goes against your current beliefs, unless Donald orders you to.

I see it, like many people, in the violence and lawlessness in the news every day, and see it personally on the commute to work.
It seems like courtesy is getting rarer on the roads these days.
Seems like incompetence at work is getting more prevalent.
Many more ethically challenged people every day. Cheating and lying is just "the way we do it".
I know you see it, too, if you're over about 45 years old.
It's not just a lack of civility, it's like a collective mass delusion. People have forgotten that we're just a bunch of animals trying to find something to eat. No wonder they're confused.

There is good and bad on both sides.

Define irony: That grandpappy is complaining about a lack of courtesy.

It's important, when considering something like the topic line of this thread, to avoid the trap of nostalgia. To this end, specific factually documented criteria which define the cohesiveness of society must be selected, justified, weighted, and then results for different years or decades compared.

Regards, stay safe 'n well 'n remember the Big 5.

For the record, I'm almost twice the age of 45.

Seriously? You live in NYC, right?

Do you disagree with the OP?

I don't see much hate in the world, because I don't surround myself with it.

You're a bitter man, so it doesn't surprise me that you seem surrounded by hate.

You get what you give. *shrug*

Bitter? No. Blind to reality? No.

Trump did his best - violence and corruption is the recipe for a failed state

Well, all I can figure is you don't get out much.

I do. I work full time, run a non-profit from home, I'm in a band, I'm building a recording studio, I'm feeding a houseful of friends, family, guests, and band members every Saturday night.

I'm out more than I'd care to be.

Like I said - you get what you give. Maybe a little self-reflection is in order for you?

I am glad we are finally getting along and having some fun and figuring out we really aren’t that bad after all and we have a lot in common.

What you call a "breakdown", others call a "renaissance". Just think of how far we have come as humans due to Democrat principles! There are no longer "men" and "women". We are all one gender made up of millions upon millions of personalized "gender identities". Finally we are free of the restrictions forced upon us by religious zealots that, for 2000 years, determined our gender narrative. We are free from the restraints of empirical "truth" and now everyone can decide for themselves what is and isn't "true" based on their own unique experiences in the world. Nobody has to be wrong any more! We finally know that the root of all evil is Republicans and, knowing that, we can finally rid the world of that evil.

We just went through a pandemic where a major political party said people should be willing to die for the economy, they want to force women into deadly illegal abortions, flood our communities with guns, prohibit SEL lessons in schools, which target bullying, make trans/gays invisible, make a career out of dehumanizing anyone seeking asylum as "illegals."

These things take their toll.

Ok, Let’s go Brandon.

Pandemic…..die for the economy…..force women…..guns……make schools worse…..dehumanizing……

Did I catch all the “punch lines”?

Are we talking about the same country? The backlash to sexual freedom/liberation here is fierce, worse than some less developed countries.

And Qanon's approach to "the truth" is hardly praiseworthy
