Theologists How to Explain the Webb Telescope

More modern theology the phrase is seen as a metaphor. But I see that is worming the claim to fit the narative that Jews are the only chosen people, God hates everyone else according to the theme of the day

However if you study the bible in context of time through archeology you find thousands on inconsistencies and, frankly, far too many exaggerations for me to accept any of the teaching.

Genesis is clearly the story of one group of Nomadic tribes through various authors, all of which try to present a case that they were the first; the birth of mankind, ignoring archeological evidence that other peoples, including Egyptians and Greeks were in existence at this point. And, the bible exaggerates to the point of fiction. There could not have been "600,000" Israelite men, which the Pharoh saw as a threat to himself. Archeology shows NO signs of such a mass of people ever in Egypt.

Nor have archeologists been able to find evidence of a large group of peoples wandering in the desert, no graves, no toilets trace theses, etc.

Every culture of the Mediteranian basis has a flood myth. And that tale, Noah and a boat is outright fiction. There never was a Noah, not such a boat.
There never was a Noah, not such a boat.....how can you say such things, it was meant to be a three hour tour.

And there you have it. Some folks get so deep in their beliefs they make up shit like god put them there for yuks but no such creature existed. After all, we all know god has a sense of humor like when he unleashed the great flood killing almost everyone and everything, it was a riot from what I hear.
You have to admit The Great Flood created a couple of great movies.
So the biblical story did serve some good cause.

How do believers in the Bible claiming the Earth was made in 6 days and 6,000 years ago. I am not being antagonistic, but it has long been a question I never get an answer to. It has to come up sometime, somewhere. Dinosaurs ruled the Earth for millions of years and yet no comment from any religions anywhere.

When one embraces magic as real, anything is possible (in their mind.)

You just embrace the mysteries and know that it'll all be explained later, and doesn't matter anyhow.

Not me, I mean those goofballs. There's a lot of them.

The majority of christians believe the bible is apocryphal rather than literal. Stories and myths written to make points and teach lessons rather than convey actual facts.
Maybe that's why I don't get the whole religion thing. I had to look up the word apocryphal.

Hi my name is nutcase and I know the bible is probably of doubtful authenticity, but widely circulated as the truth, so I believe.

Actual facts, are they really needed in a good fiction?

Are you saying harry potter and the hobbits aren't real?

Theologists how to explain the Webb Telescope? "God did it," right? Isn't that how they "explain" everything?

Are you saying harry potter and the hobbits aren't real?

I wish I could believe that a significant portion of the population wouldn't struggle with that one.

That's where I am with our species.

How many of the so called christians on here say crazy shit all the time and then say they follow god's teachings?
Maybe it's God who is crazy? Just look at some of the messed up things he does in the bible. Crazy is as crazy does, right?

YOu could do better if you started a Tom Cruise cult. His is the hottest name on the planet today. Just avoid being sued by his lawyers.
Nah. If you want a "cool" cult, it should be the Church of the Fonz 😉

He was just in a funny goofy mood. A certified prankster ;)
There is no joke about the flood, meteor impacts affect civilizations across creation, so, someone getting a premonition and building an ark must be a common pastime.

All it takes is is a seven mile wide object and only the occupants of the ark survive.

And that's why we're a failure as a species.

Hobbits come in the distant future, likely after numerous expansions close to the alien invasions after Chaitanya has departed and the remnants of his magic is collected up for the rings of power.

How would anyone know to build an ark in order to save animal species and a few select humans just before a meteor hits and causes a fantastic tsunami?

And that's why we don't want to time travel to the future.
That would be too scary.
We need to go back in the past & tweak a few things.

Its faith not rational propositions. Its like asking how do readers explain the crazy shit in the lord of the rings; fiction.

The Indian priests had to be told like Jonah to preach to the remnants of Jericho.

They were like, He's coming, then, over there, where are his people.

There's a very slight chance that we're only far displaced from a dimension in which it occurred.

Because 6000 years is a long time to anyone, even God, so from the beginning, you can have only six-thousand years till now, or get lost in the dimensions of time. This explanation may not be correct, God could make it correct if He wanted to or make it correct to you, which is what we seem to be trying to do, politically, we see example.

There is also no reason to believe in the dimensional explanation since the source of the scriptures is known.
How nice for you.

You look up in the sky and see moon, sun, stars, planets, and figure what would happen, if a mountain fell into the sea.

Of course, most of the time this happens, the ark builder turns out to be nothing more than mad.

Of course, most ark builders only save a few domestic species.

What, that Christ is real and I was raised a Christian?

Krishna is real too.
Sure, sure. Look, I didn't mean to push the "proselytize" button. Let's just let it go, ok?
