The West Is on Fire. Trump Hasn’t Bothered Mentioning It

In 2015, Obama declared a National Disaster over the giant wildfire then. He called the governor, and he proposed funding changes to address the problem. That's what Presidents do when one of our states is in crisis.
Yep, load up the money cannons and fire away at the most politically correct solution in sight. Which is frequently yet another study on why wood burns.

My was like that Thursday and Friday. We had the Valley Fire about 20 miles east of here.

Too close for comfort!

This is the barely coherent and grammatically inept speech of a man who desperately wants to be able to claim that he "cured coronavirus."

That's it, in a nutshell. When we do get a handle on this crisis, he wants to be able to pull out footage and declare "I called it! I said use this! I said try this! I told them to do this, it was my idea!" He's just doing it with lots of stupid stuff because he doesnt want to miss an opportunity. He's afraid 'the big one' will be mentioned and he wont get credit for it.

It's all about declaring himself the savior of the cv crisis and we'll hear all about it, esp in his campaign. (Which is basically each of his press briefings these days) --- Lursa

Air quality here today is the worst on the planet. :(

People in 3 state firezones have lost everything, including lives.

Thanks for noticing this global event Donald. Sorry it isnt as important as your failing campaign.
You can send the money back.

The big one in CA was started by a gender reveal.

At least 2 in W. WA St were started when high winds brought down trees on power lines.

Ah thanks I didnt know about the power lines ones.

Global warming suggests your comments are total horse****. But hey, live on in your science free world.
Global warming? Global temp rise fractions of a degree in decades. So far lightening, arson, misused pyrotechnics have been identified.

I've lived my whole life in one of the most heavily forested areas in the world, a place where the forests have been a valued resource for umpteen generations, I've worked in the bush myself, and I never heard of those things until the buffoon in the White House said them last year. It's a ridiculous concept. Anyone who advocates such a thing has no clue of the scope of what he's saying. We're not talking about a large park here.

For one thing over 45% of California, nearly 46 million acres, is federally owned. Can you possibly guess how many people would be required to "manage" that much land the way you describe? Every summer the bush is closed for fire season because people working in it increase the risk of wildfires. That's what your "forest management" measures would do, increase the risk.

I suggest ten minutes with Google Earth to get an idea of what the job would entail.

I can assure you controlled burns is a real thing, but only needed before drought damage to prevent everything from burning all at once later on. They do it in the desert of California alot.

And keeping a national park raked up during the fall would definitely help during fire seasons but would deprive the area of mulch and you can only rake up so much. Unless they find a way to sell the leafs for something. Raking it up every year would be detrimental to the forest though but you could sell the leafs to boiler factories that are always in need of fuel for boiler fire. Plus it will only stop kindling wont stop full blown tree fire.

our country currently does not have a President.

Just because some dissenters chant.... “Not My President”

The Duly Elected 45th POTUS is in The People’s House!

Go Trump!

Definitely. We were watching it closely. Sky finally has a little blue in it but mostly still smoking. They're claiming 40% containment. Winds seem to be cooperating for a change.

The democrats have done a terrible job of running California, they don't like federal interference and all of a sudden they want Trump to Help.

True, much of the fire is in the National Forests, a state responsibility, and we have steadfastly refused to rake the forest floors as the president has instructed us.

Keep ignoring the obvious. The state of Oregon knows their "expert" made fatal mistakes:

Is he related to Fire Marshal Bill?

The question was, if federal land is burning should the federal government fight the fire.

Trump and Melania should fight the fire by themselves!

After all, global warming-cooling-freezing-thawing is all Trump's fault!

Another tip for the rest of us. That anti-trumpers are either blind, or ignorant.

Trumps an immoral fraudulent con artist.
Anyone who says different is either blind, ignorant or lying.

Well, that's pretty dumb. Did someone tell you that or you just made it up yourownself?
Everyone knows that global warming is a hoax cooked up by China to cripple the American economy. Trump said so himself and everyone knows he wouldn't say it if it wasn't true.

Last fall I did a road trip up around Mt Lassen. I could help noticing how dense the ground cover was. Even the swaths cut out for power lines was dense and overgrown and the trees were way closer to the power lines than I would have thought. There were also literally tens of thousands of dead trees due to a bark beetle infestation. As I look at the fire maps today I can point each fire and say "I was there".

Laughably, Newson got all huffy and puffy about these fires being caused by "global warming"; the "debate is over" yada yada. And then the state releases its plan to prevent fires and its; clear underbrush, cut down tens of those dead trees, clean up power line right-of-ways, etc. JUST the things, by the way, that Trump faulted the state for not doing last year after the Paradise fire. But, "climate change", right"?

Hear!Hear!

oh, there is a person occupying our White House. he's just not a President. he's a con man and criminal that Southern Christians back.

Actually, this fire season has been remarkably small in Alaska. There are currently only 30 fires being tracked. YTD there have been 335 fires in Alaska, and they have burned just over 181,251 acres (283.2 square miles; 733.5 km[SUP]2[/SUP]). It is certainly nothing "historic" much less a disaster.

There is a good reason why propagandists in the media don't want anyone looking at Alaska's wildfires. They make the fires in the lower-48 look like a tiny camp fire.

In 2004 Alaska had 701 fires that burned 6,590,140 acres (10,297 square miles; 26,669 km[SUP]2[/SUP]). The single biggest fire of those 701 was the Taylor Complex Fire. That particular fire consumed over 1,700,000 acres (2,700 square miles; 6,900 km[SUP]2[/SUP]).

In 2015 Alaska had fires that burned 5,098,829.9 acres (7,967 square miles, 20,634 km[SUP]2[/SUP]). Which just barely surpassed the record established in 1957, the third biggest fire season in Alaska, when fires burned 5,049,661 acres (7,890 square miles; 20,435 km[SUP]2[/SUP]).

If the propagandists in the media weren't so eager to push their leftist agenda they would put things into their proper perspective by including Alaska when referring to "Western Wildfires." But then they wouldn't be able to intentionally deceive the masses.

Repetitive Democrat political talking points don’t change reality. The Dems have tried to take Trump out of The People’s House and have failed over and over and over again.

Reality Fact is...The Duly Elected 45th POTUS is still in The People’s House.

And the Dems best Hope for Change is The Democratic/Socialist/getting very close to Communist Biden/Harris Ticket:lamo :donkeyfla

The Trump/Pence duo is the winning Ticket in the 2020 Election:2usflag:

imho Roseann:)
